An Unexpected Injury~ Part 3
Yes, here it is!! You are all probably screaming with excitement right now- LOL! 😀
I promise, I will never take that long to finish a series again! It has just been WAY too long 😉
So, last we left off Cecile had a fever caused by an infection and was going to have another surgery. Thankfully the surgery went well, but she still had a slight fever. I took Annika and Saige with me to visit Cecile the day after the operation.
“Annika, why did I ever let her get on Penny? I had a bad feeling that whole morning. I should’ve told her that it wasn’t a good day! It’s all my fault!” Saige cried.
“Oh, Saige! It is not your fault! Cecile doesn’t blame you- nobody blames you. Why do you keep going on about it? You couldn’t have known for sure that something was going to happen. You are no more responsible for her injury than I am.” Annika explained nicely.
“I wouldn’t expect you to understand. It’s okay.” Saige said with a little sniffle.
“Saige, I have said everything I know to say. And if you won’t listen to me, I don’t know what anyone could do to make you feel better.” Annika said sadly.
“Saige?” Cecile whispered weakly.
“Yes, Cecile?” Saige replied.
“Saige, ple-please don’t blame yourself. Annika is right. I don’t blame you. You are one- one of the best sisters ever. And I bet that in time, you’ll be one of the greatest riders in the world. I-I love you, Saige. Please don’t blame yourself anymore.” Cecile used all of her strength to say those things. And that is part of what made it so special.
“Oh, Cece, thank you! I love you, too!” Saige said with a smile. Annika smiled, too. She was glad her sister had finally realized that it wasn’t her fault 🙂

A week passed and Cecile was finally ready to come home!
Hi Annika! Hi Saige! You’re late! You were supposed to be here 1 minute ago!” Cecile said and started laughing at her own joke.
Annika and Saige laughed! They were happy to see their sister back to normal again.
“YAAY!! Let’s go home!!” Cecile yelled and they all giggled.
Cecile had a big welcome when we got home. Everyone was glad to see her, well, except for Caleb 😀
