Let’s see if I can get through this post without crying… But I don’t really think that will happen…
Before I go on, I want you all to know that this is not a joke. This isn’t some late April Fools Day prank. This is real.
I know I have always said that I’ll never leave. That I’ll always be posting on LHOAG. That I planned to be buying dolls and posting on here till I was an old lady. But time has changed things.
My passion for dolls and doll blogging has faded. At the beginning of the year I had written down goals for this blog and I was super excited about it. I hoped that this would be a big year for LHOAG, but as I’m sure you all can tell, I’ve hardly been posting here the past few months.
I’ve felt lazy to post. I’ve preferred doing other things instead of posting. And all the while I’ve felt super guilty about not posting here.
Each month I’ve been saying – okay, this month I’m gonna post more! And then I just don’t.
I’ve come to the realization after a long heart to heart talk with my mom that my passions have changed. Dolls are no longer my passion in life, though I still love them very much, they just aren’t my passion anymore. Writing is my new passion. I’d rather spend my time brainstorming, reading writing posts, writing, etc. than dressing up my dolls and taking pictures of them.
And I can’t tell you how much it pains me to say that. My dolls and this blog have been literally a part of me these past 4 years. I’ve learned, gained, and given so much through this blog and I can’t imagine what my life would have been like without it. In fact – my passion for writing really came because of this blog. So through an old passion, a new one emerged.
That’s okay, though. We can’t hold onto everything in life, no matter how much we may want to. People grow up, times change, and with that comes new passions, new adventures, and a new chapter in life.
So my friends, it is time for me to say it – I’m not going to be posting anymore on this blog. At least… not regularly.
I don’t believe that my days of photographing dolls and making photostories are completely over, so I believe that I will still come back here and post things, I just don’t know how often. It could be weeks, months, or even a year apart, but I know I’m not 100% out of the game just yet. So please don’t unfollow me – I’m certain I will still have more things posted on here, I just don’t know when. I’m only going to post if I feel the urge to do so.
Letting go is so hard. I feel like I’m saying goodbye to the last piece of my childhood. Like I’m ending one chapter and beginning a new one. This is really hard for me, guys. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’ve loved this blog and the journey it’s taken me on.
And I love you all so much. I know that sounds like a lie, but I mean it. You all have made me so happy and have been such a huge part of my life. Because you mean so much to me, I feel so terrible to do this, but I know you’ll understand. <3
Thank you all for the love you’ve expressed to me and my blog. For your words of encouragement, advice, and support. Thank you for every like, every comment, and every follow. Thank you for being there for me through the good and the bad. <3
I’m not leaving the blogosphere. I’m still gonna be around, reading, commenting, and liking your posts. And I’ll still be posting over on Little Miss Fluffet, so please go follow me there so we can stay in touch. I don’t wanna lose you guys. <3 I post about my writing on LMF, fandom things, and will also be posting my monthly recaps there, so you can stay pretty much up to date on my life on that blog 😉 And rest assured this blog will always remain open and running!
I feel like I can’t end this post, cause it just feels so final and it’s breaking me. But I’ll be back. I will. Someday. :’)
With Much Love from Your Friend,
Today I decided to do a photoshoot and when I noticed Julie wasn’t wearing any clothes (heh heh – #problemsofadollcollector) I decided to get her dressed and snap a few photos of her. Enjoy! 😀
Oh! And just a quick question – how many of you would like to see Tell Us Tuesday return? I’m thinking about bringing it back, but I want to make sure that people will participate, so please let me know what you think!
Have a great rest of your day! 😀
Hey everyone!! Are any of you excited for the new Disney princess movie, Moana to come out? Cause I am, and if you aren’t, then there’s hardly any point to read this post. But don’t go away! You’ll find it interesting whether you’re excited or not – 100% guaranteed! If you aren’t satisfied, please return this post to…. Okay. We’re getting off track here…
Ahem. As a lot of you may know, my craft fair (which I refer to as Hillside) is coming up SUPER soon!! Like – in 2 WEEKS!!! So I procrastinated again and I am obviously not going to meet a lot of my goals of products I wanted to have at Hillside this month, but I set to work on designing a Moana costume which I think turned out pretty great! And I am here to share with you some photos of Kiara as Moana
So how do you like it? If you’re interested in purchasing it you can buy it in my Etsy shop by clicking HERE.
It will be $30 until Thanksgiving when it will be $35 from then on. Even if you aren’t interested in buying, I’d appreciate a favorite! 😀
Well, bye bye! I’ll “see” you again soon! *waves*
What are your thoughts on Moana? Are you going to go see it?
I. AM. THAT. HEROOO! XD
YES, I am BACK!!!
Thank you all for your sweet comments on my last post! The wedding was so gorgeous and absolutely perfect in every way! I’m so insanely happy for them – they’re just such a beautiful couple. God matched them so perfectly! <3
I did cry at the wedding, but not as much as I thought I would. And we danced so. Much. My feet were killing me. XD
I’ll be sharing some pics soon! I’m not sure whether or not to post them here or on LMF… What do you guys think?
Okay, I think I’ve rambled enough! XD I had an urge to go outside and take pictures of Weston and then decided that he needed a girl with him, so Riven-Delle came along too.
By the way, we had a thunderstorm the other day. It rained 2 days in a row. And there are no more 90’s in the forecast. AAAAGHHH!!!
On with the photoshoot! XD
So how have you all been doing? Anything exciting going on or coming up soon? Is school overtaking your life? I’d love to know what’s going on in your life! I’ve missed you guys! <3
I’ll post again soon! *waves*
By the way – the title is my attempt at a shipping name for Weston and Riven-Delle ;D
ITS FINALLY SHADY IN THE AFTERNOON SO I CAN TAKE PICTURES NOW AND IM REALLY EXCITED!!!!
Ahem. Sorry for the screaming…
But to explain further, I haven’t posted in so long because it had been sunny like 24/7 outside and when it wasn’t, I’d have to get up super early or take them at night when I’m getting tired, so I couldn’t really take pics…
BUT ITS FINALLY SHADY IN THE AFTERNOON!!! *fireworks* *confetti* *donuts* wait, what? XD
I loved holding my camera again and crouching down to take pictures of a beautiful doll. *sighs happily*
To those of you waiting for the next part of Masquerade; I PROMISE I will get it up very soon! With lighting problems and just being super busy, it’s been hard to think about getting a photostory up 😉
Have a wonderful rest of your day! Have a donut!
Or 2 or 3…. How about a baker’s dozen? XD
I guess the title gives it away, but YES! I got Willa!!! I’ve had her for a few weeks now and just yesterday got around to taking pictures of her (sorry for my absence by the way. I’ve been having trouble with finding time to take pictures…)
Her little bunny ears headband is the same print as the skirt with pink trim to match the shirt. The headband is fabric until it reaches the underneath part where it’s just elastic (and has a humongous tag). It’s easy to slip on and off the doll’s head.
Of course I had to show a closeup of its cute little face
Okay, so I know this is awkward, but I felt it needed to be shown. When you take off her underwear there’s a little Wellie Wishers logo engraved on her. Also, Willa is all vinyl and has a cute little belly button 😉 There is also “American Girl made in China” and some numbers engraved on the back.
The Wellie Wishers are $60 and I think perhaps slightly overpriced. Normally I say AG’s things are worth the money and while I absolutely ADORE Willa, I don’t think she should be a $60 doll 😉 I think $45 might be a better price for them.
AG says they are for ages 5+ and I feel like that’s accurate
Well, there you are! Willa is simply adorable and quite photogenic! I’d like to take her to a park sometime and get more pictures of her And yes, the Wellie Wishers are perfect little sisters for AG dolls 😉
What do you think of the Wellie Wishers? Are any of them on your WISHlist? (Haha, get it? XD)
Have a great day everyone! And I hope to start posting more soon!
Hi everyone! I’m sorry I haven’t been posting a ton lately, but I’m gonna try to change that 😉
I was going to post Masquerade last night, but that didn’t end up working out, so I’ll probably have it up tomorrow
Anyway, a week or 2 ago, a package from AG arrived with some surprises from my mom! Today I finally got to take pics for a review and photoshoot of 2 of the items, so let’s get on with it, shall we?
Here is the Pretty Plaid Shirt. Right when I saw this online, I died (but then, what else is new? XD)!
The shirt is made a of a very thin material, but I don’t see it ripping or anything. It is dark blue with stripes of, I’d say sea green and pink. Everyone sees colors differently, and that’s what I see when I look at the shirt
It has 4 working buttons which are surprisingly easy to use. I prefer to leave the top button unbuttoned at the collar.
The shirt is made to be tied in a knot. I think they made it long enough for people to tie easily, but then, I do have tiny hands 😉 I was really glad that my doll could still wear the shirt tied without it exposing the stomach. I was a little worried about that at first 😉
This is what the shirt looks like untied. Not very appealing, but maybe if you wanted to pair it with a skirt tucked in, you could do that
The Purple Play Shorts are adorable and match perfectly with this outfit! As you can see, they are a bit too short, but all AG’s shorts and skirts these days are too short. Thankfully they’re just dolls 😉
There are only 2 belt loops in the front, which I think is a little odd… The lavender shorts have coral stitching.
An American Girl tag is on the left pocket.
If you pull down the shorts just a tad, your doll can put her thumbs in her pockets which looks super cute 😉
Just another shot 😉
I rate the Pretty Plaid Shirt 5 out of 5 stars. I don’t have a problem with it at all!
I rate the shorts 4 out of 5 stars due to the length and only 2 belt loops. That just seems really strange to me XD
So, now it’s time for a long photoshoot because Jocelyn looks adorable and I got up early to take these pics, so I had to take advantage of the shade and non overwhelming heat while I could! XD
I got so much bokeh in my photos today!! *squeal*
Everybody in their Sunday best…. (I’m trying a new thing. Putting random thoughts and whatnot into my photoshoots. How do you like it? XD)
Oh bokeh, oh bokeh, I love you so much. You bring spots of gladness into our lives. Why then, oh bokeh, must you be so hard to get in my photos?! XD
I should have another review and photoshoot up soon, so stay tuned!
Do you ever say something completely random that makes no sense? I’m asking because I was just going to end this post by asking “what do you want for waffles?” XD I think I’m tired….
Have a wonderful day!
Hey everyone! First, I just want to say thank you all for your prayers and kind words during the loss of my grandpa. They really meant a lot and I want you all to know that I am doing great!
My mom and I stayed with my gramma for a whole week and just got back on Saturday. I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am to be HOME! *lets out a contented sigh*
While I was at my gramma’s house, I took a photoshoot of Leia in her beautiful backyard! There are a lot of pics, so get comfy! ;D
Told you that was a lot! XD
I hope you enjoyed the pictures! I had so much fun taking them- her backyard is amazing! 😀
I’m having a craving to make a photostory pretty soon here…. YAY! 😀
What’s the longest you’ve been away from home?
P.S. I HAVE 97 FOLLOWERS!! So close to 100!! *squeals* Once I hit 100 followers, I’ll have another giveaway ;D
Hey everyone! Did I really go a week without doing a post? Oopsie… I guess I was writing a lot last week 😛
The other day I was scrolling through Instagram and I saw some AMAZING pictures of a boy and girl doll and they made them look like a couple. It was the cutest thing ever. So it inspired me to do that with my dolls! I had so much fun doing this and I hope you enjoy these just as much as I enjoyed taking them!
Aren’t they ADORABLE?!?! It makes me want to make more boy dolls XD
Literally, it was perfect – as I was making this post, I See The Light from Tangled was playing. That was just amazing. If you want a special effect to this post, I suggest listening to that song as you read through it ;D
Also, I’m gonna try to get a photostory up this week! Yay! XD
Which picture was your favorite? Would you like to see more of these?
