Masquerade~ Part 13

WOW! This is so far the longest photostory series I’ve done! 😀

Read the last part here.

After Liesel and I parted ways, I went searching for Prince Jeremiah; Liesel’s scandalous husband.

I heard in town that the prince enjoyed taking walks near the river, so I waited for him there. To my delight, he showed up.

“Sire, if you have a moment I need to speak with you.” I said as I approached him.

“What is it, sir?” Jeremiah asked.

I wasn’t about to waste my time by being respectful to this man, so I came right out and said, “I know what you did.”

“What did I do?” He inquired. I could tell he was feeling uneasy.

“For starters, you married my girl.” I was going to work my way up to what I really wanted to say.

Jeremiah chuckled and said, “So, you’re jealous? Obviously you weren’t in her life anymore as I truly believe she would have said something about you to me before she accepted my proposal.”

“I’m not the only man who wasn’t in her life anymore. You killed her father.” That last sentence tasted bitter in my mouth. Knowing that my dear Liesel was married to the very man who was responsible for her father’s death absolutely sickened me.

“And what proof do you have of this?” Jeremiah inquired with a laugh as though the very notion was preposterous.

I grinned and said, “I’m the witness.”

At that, Jeremiah froze. He knew he was caught and I could tell he didn’t know what to do. “didn’t kill him.” He defended.

“Oh, I know. That would have been far too dangerous. You put Frederic up to it.” I said, relieved at last to confront the prince about this.

“So what do you plan to do?” Jeremiah asked as he looked at the sparkling river.

“I plan to expose both of you. The kingdom deserves to know what kind of Prince they have ruling over them.”

“What makes you think they’ll believe you?” He asked, unmoving.

“Because the witness is still being searched for. They have a description of me. They’ll believe every word I say.” I informed.

“Well, there’s only one thing wrong with that…” Jeremiah said, his eyes growing darker.

“What’s that?” I inquired.

“That you won’t be around for them to find.” He said with an evil grin and snapped his fingers.

Before I knew what was happening, someone came from behind me and hit me on the head-

-I fell to the ground, unconscious.
