Relaxing At The Pool :)

Ugh! It is SO hot today- it’s like 108 degrees!! Isn’t that disgusting? I hate the heat, but I LOVE to go swimming in our pool! Annika hadn’t been swimming yet so she wanted to go for a quick dip πŸ˜‰

image

Annika- “Hmm.. That’s a pretty big pool! I think I’ll just stay in the shallow.”

image

Annika- “Whew! The water felt a little cold, but it still felt great!”

image

After her swim she wanted to lay out and try to get a sun tan.

Aaaah… How relaxing πŸ™‚

If you’re wondering where I got the chair my mom and I found it at Jo~Ann about a week ago. It was broken and on sale for about $4 and we asked if they would take the price down lower since it’s broken- we ended up only paying $2 forΒ it!

My grandpa is so amazing, too! He fixed it for me- I love my grandpa πŸ™‚

What do you like to do on a hot day?

  • I know! I do not like HOT weather at all!!!!! I live in AZ and it is like 114 Degrees!!!!! Annika looks adorable!! She is just so pretty! That is a cute little poncho/swimsuit covor she has on, where did you get it? Great pictures to!
    An American girl fan forever,
    Grace

    • Me either! EEEEEWWW!! I could NOT live in Arizona! That’s just disgusting! LOL!
      Hehe! Thanks, she is πŸ™‚
The swimsuit is actually a ballernia leotard from an OG set my grandma got me. The cover is a Build-A-Bear Poncho/Shawl πŸ™‚
      Thank you!
      ~Jaclynn~

  • I love Annika! She looks so cute!:)

  • Ooh, that’s soo hot! We don’t have that hot here. We just got our pool ready for swimming in today, but I haven’t. I am a little sick. πŸ™ But not very much. πŸ™‚ But I LOVE to go in our pool. πŸ™‚

  • But why does that chair have a hole in the middle? It just seemed kind of strange. πŸ˜‰

    • I honestly don’t know! I think that’s wierd, too, but it works! πŸ˜‰
      ~Jaclynn~

      • Oh. Well it looks regular if someone is sitting in it, so that’s okay. But you could put a cushion on it to make it look regular. πŸ™‚

        • Yeah, it does- hehe! πŸ™‚
I could, but I don’t have any mini cushions πŸ™
          ~Jaclynn~

          • Oh, well, I am guessing it isn’t hard to make one. Just sew two pieces of cloth together and then put a LOT of stuffing in it. That’d probably work.

          • Yeah, that’s true πŸ˜€
            ~Jaclynn~

  • Do you have a deep end and a shallow end in your pool? We do. πŸ™‚

  • I hope Annika had a good time cooling down!
I know! I don’t live down south, but it’s supposed to get in the 90s today! And yesterday it got into the 90s I think! Which is why, after church we plan to go to our friends house and swim in the creek not far from their house, which is I think funner than a public swimming pool, but about a private swimming pool, I don’t know!
    ~Carli
P.S. I think the chair has a hole in the middle because it’s a plant holder, I saw someone else get one like that, and they just put a pillow in the middle πŸ˜‰

    • Hehe! She says she did! πŸ™‚
Yeah, I think it’s going to be 105 here today.
That sounds like fun! Wow- swimming in the creek. You and Christian Homeschooler live in places I wish I lived in! LOL!
Definitely more fun than a public swimming pool! As for a private swimming pool- that depends. Me and my older brother had so much fun in the pool last year! We imitated a water show that’s done at Disneyland (It’s called World of Color) doing the music and lines and everything! We had contests swimming back and forth in the pool, and boy did we laugh!! So I guess it just depends on what you do to make it fun πŸ˜€
      ~Jaclynn~
P.S. Oh, really? I guess that would make sense- I’m pretty sure it was by some garden stuff, too! Hehe- thank you for telling me! πŸ™‚

  • That’s good! Hehe! πŸ™‚
Wow. That’s really hot. I don’t know if I could stand it being that hot!
LOL! It’s really nice up here, but it rains about 9 months a year, so that’s kind of annoying, but otherwise, I love it up here! πŸ™‚
It is a lot of fun! We play a lot of games, and we are rarely disturbed! One of the games we play, we all throw a toy car into the water, and jump in to find it, and we have a lot of fun! But we did loose a few cars yesterday…
Wow that sounds like a lot of fun! We couldn’t do that at the creek, but we sometimes race eachother on the boogie boards! Yeah it really does depend on who your with, and how much time you have, because in a private pool, you don’t have to leave your house, so you can go in any time, but at a creek, someone has to take you, and I’m not quite old enough to take everyone down there, so it’s kinda hard to find someone to take us down there. But other than that, they’re pretty much the same, except for when you step on a fish… πŸ˜€
    ~Carli
P.S. You’re welcome! And I might just have to convince my mom to get me one of those! Hehe!

    • Yes, it is πŸ™‚
      I know! I don’t like the heat πŸ™
Oh, yeah, that does sound annoying. I’m not sure if I would like that- hehe πŸ˜›
Oh, yeah! We do that stuff, too! Aw, that’s not good πŸ™
It is fun! That sounds like fun, too! Something else we do to make it more intense, is we take a little while gathering our breath and we see how many times we can swim back and forth (from end to end) under water in one breath! That can be very tiring! Hehe!
So you don’t go swimming much, then? That stinks!
Hehe! Ew! I wouldn’t want to swim with the fishes! LOL! πŸ˜€
      ~Jaclynn~
      P.S. LOL! Good luck! πŸ˜›

      • Yeah it is kinda annoying, but you get used to it…eventually.
Yeah, but if we go to the creek today, then we’ll look for the cars, and if not today, maybe Thursday.
Wow. I could never do that! But it still sounds fun!
Well, we go about once a week, because I go over to their house on Thursdays, and if someone can take us we go!
LOL! Well I didn’t step on one yesterday, but I did almost grab one! I was reaching for my car and a fish swam right next to my hand! I freaked out and jumped out of the water, but the jumped back in to snatch my car before my friend did! πŸ˜€
        ~Carli

        • Yeah, I guess you would get used to a thing like that. Something that we’re used to is airplanes flying over our house a lot. We live about 10-15 minutes away from an airport so that’s why there’s always planes. It can be annoying if you’re watching a movie though πŸ˜›
          Oh, that’s good! πŸ™‚
Hehe! It is pretty hard. Yes, it is fun πŸ˜€
Oh, ok! Well, that’s good that you can go at least once a week πŸ™‚
Oh my gosh! LOL! I would’ve freaked out too!
Hehe! were you having a contest? πŸ˜€
          ~Jaclynn~

          • Yeah. We live about 30 seconds away from a paper mill, I think it’s called Georgia Pacific. But on those really hot days, it starts to smell, which is really annoying, but most of the time, the wind is on our side, and blows over to the other side of the river.
Yeah, it is good. But in replace of the cold fresh water, we have two fans, and all the shades closed, so it stays kind of cool.
I know! It was very surprising!
Well kinda. After we found our cars, we would look for other people’s cars too, so it was kind of a contest, but not quite. πŸ˜€
            ~Carli

          • Oh, yeah! Smells are annoying. We smell cows a lot over here and it does not smell nice! LOL!
Wait- you don’t have air conditioning? That’s so sad!
            I bet it was! πŸ˜›
Oh, ok! I get it πŸ™‚
            ~Jaclynn~

  • I think Annika’s shades are pretty cute!:)

  • The second picture of Annika is my favorite!

  • Ugh, I hate it when I can smell cows! I have to agree, it does not smell nice.
No, we live in this 100 year old home, so it doesn’t have any air conditioning. But it does have heat, which is the last thing we need currently, because 1: it’s summer, and 2: we have a pellet stove, so we rarely turn the heat on.
    ~Carli

    • I know! We don’t smell it all the time (thank goodness!), but we do sometimes!
100 year old home?!? WOW! Are you positive that that’s how old it is? You must live in a major country area! LOL! πŸ˜€
Oh, my gosh! That is so sad that you have no AC. I couldn’t handle that! Hehe! πŸ˜›
      ~Jaclynn~

      • 100 YEAR OLD HOME?!!?!!!!!! My house was built in the 70’s, but……WOAH…..100 YEAR OLD HOME??!?!!!!!
My church is 200 years old! Well, with A LOT of re-modeling XD

      • Thats good! We don’t smell the paper mill all the time either.
Lol! Yep, it turned 100 years old last summer, so it’s almost 101. But it has been redone, so it doesn’t really look 100 years old unless you live in it! Actually, we don’t, we live in the suburbs I guess you could say. Like some people who live down the street have chickens. But we live about 15 minutes away from our friends who live on 2 acres.
Yeah it is kinda sad, but I have some solutions for staying cool 1: close the curtains, 2: sit in front of a fan, and 3: if you’re able to, jump in a pool, or through the sprinklers, and 4: if nothing else works, wear a cotton shirt, and stay out of the sun! Hehe! πŸ˜€
        ~Carli

        • WOW! That’s insane! Our house is old, but not that old!! LOL!
Oh, ok! Well, that’s cool πŸ˜›
          LOLOLOL!! You’re funny! πŸ˜€
          ~Jaclynn~

          • Lol! Yeah, it is kinda crazy, but as long as the pluming, and electricity work, then I don’t mind living here! But there are a few things that drive me crazy, like the light switch in my room is on the opposite side of the door, so I have to go all the way to the other side just to turn the light on!
            Thanks! πŸ˜€
            ~Carli

          • Hehe! Yeah, that’s true!
Oh my gosh! Yeah, I have a 5 head floor lamp (I don’t know what to call it! LOL!) in my room which gives the light and it’s on the opposite side of my room. I don’t mind much though because my room is really small, so I don’t have to walk far to turn it on πŸ™‚
            You’re welcome πŸ˜€
            ~Jaclynn~

  • SHE’S SOOOOO CUTE! Lucky, I wish I had a pool! I mostly go to a water park or my BFF’s house to swim.

  • Oh wow, that is strange! But in my room there used to be a door leading to the bathroom right there, so I think that’s why the switch is there. But why it bothers me, is sometimes I trip over something when it’s dark, like a craft I left out, or something like that when I go to turn the light on.
