my american girl
The palace guards had caught me red-handed with the Rainbow Stone and dragged me down to their deepest dungeon. I was to stay there until further notice. I worried terribly about my mother who would wake up the next morning to find me missing and discovering that I had been sent to the dungeon in Ethenia.
I felt like I was awake all night, but knew it wasn’t so when I woke up to a gentle voice saying, “Liesel. Liesel!”
I opened my eyes and saw my mother standing on the other side of my cell wrapped in her golden shawl and carrying an old folded up blanket. “Are you alright, darling?” My mother inquired, her voice quavery.
“No, I’m not, but I am better now that you’re here. Mother, I’m so sorry about all – ” I began, but Mother interrupted me,
“It’s alright. Here, I brought you a blanket to keep yourself warm.” She said as she handed me the blanket through the cell bars.
“Thank you.” I said gratefully and wrapped it around my shoulders. “Mother, truly, I am so sorry. I should have told you about my meeting with Frederic, but I was scared. I thought I was doing the right thing by keeping our secret, but I ended up getting put in jail. I’m so sorry.” I apologized as a few tears entered my eyes.
Mother wrapped her hand around mine and said, “I know, dear. And it’s okay. We’re going to work this out.”
“Times up.” The jail guard said and mother looked back at him sadly.
“I have to go now, but don’t worry. I’ll be back soon. I promise.” Mother said sincerely. “Goodbye, Mother. And thank you.” I said and watched her go with an aching heart.
The next morning, I lay on the floor of my cell sobbing. I missed my mother, my home, and I absolutely hated being locked in the dungeon. I was beyond miserable and completely depressed.
I heard footsteps stop at my cell and looked up, expecting to see my mother, but instead was disgusted at the sight of my visitor. “What are you doing here?” I inquired angrily.
“I’m here to give you the good news. I’ve spoken with the king and he has agreed to let you go.” Frederic said with a broad smile that made me suspicious.
“Why are you smiling?” I asked suspiciously.
“Oh, maybe just because I know that you’ll end up poorer than a lowly servant before long.” He replied with a grin.
“What? What did you do?” I demanded of him.
His face grew serious. “You didn’t get me the Rainbow Stone and now you never will. Therefore, our deal has fallen through. I told several people back at your home kingdom the truth about your father and by now the word is spreading like wild fire. Before long, you and your mother will be in so much debt that you’ll be forced to sell your home and all your belongings. You’ll be living on the streets!” Frederic finished with a merry laugh.
I turned away and said, “No…”
Frederic began walking away, but he said over his shoulder, “You really should thank me. After all, I just gave you back your freedom!” He may have given me back my freedom, but now my life and reputation was destroyed.
To be continued in Part 6!! 😀
I walked into the parlor at our house and noticed my mother sitting at the desk. “Oh! Mother, I didn’t think you would still be awake.” I said with surprise. “What are you doing home so early?” She inquired, ignoring what I had just said.
“I was just feeling a little tired.” I fibbed and took a seat.
“Liesel, what is it? What’s troubling you?” My mother questioned as she studied me. Somehow mothers always know when something is bothering their children.
“Nothing.” I replied quite simply, then went on to say, “How are you feeling, Mother? Is your headache gone?” I inquired, trying to change the subject.
“Yes, I am feeling much better. Now, would you please tell me what’s wrong?” She asked in her gentle motherly tone.
“Nothing – it’s just – nothing, I’m fine.” I quickly assured her as I reached for the teapot.
“I know you don’t do well in large crowds. Were you feeling uncomfortable?” Mother tried again, but I just couldn’t tell her.
“Would you like a cup of tea?” I offered, ignoring her question. Mother sighed and said, “Yes, thank you.”
As I was carrying the cup and saucer, I felt so nervous that I was trembling and dropped them on the floor.
“I’m so sorry! I’ll clean it up.” I apologized and reached down to pick up the cup and saucer.
I closed my eyes and looked away with a sigh. “You’re right, Mother. Something is on my mind.” I confessed.
“It’s Father. Some of the other women were talking about the great things their fathers are doing and what a success they are, that it got me to thinking about him.” I lied again. Mother couldn’t know about my meeting with Frederic.
“You didn’t say anything, did you?” Mother asked in a panic.
“No, no, of course not!” I assured her and continued, “But I was wondering… What would happen if someone did find out?” I inquired with caution, not wanting to alarm my mother more than I already had.
“That’s not something to wonder, Liesel, because no one will find out.” Mother answered.
“I know, it’s just that I’m curious. What would happen if others knew?” I asked again.
Mother stood and headed for the door. “If others knew, we would be shamed and we would become the laughingstock of the kingdom. We could lose our house, our riches, and all that we had. We’d go back to poverty.” She finally explained with a trembling voice.
“No one must find out what your father really was and we must do anything to keep others from knowing the truth.” She said sternly.
“Anything?” I repeated.
“Anything.” She said and went upstairs. I knew I had upset her and that I had brought up a painful topic, but I just had to know for sure.
“Well, I have my answer then. She said we have to do anything, so that’s exactly what I’ll do. Even if it means doing something for Frederic.”
That concludes part 2! Look for part 3 coming soon! 😀
Hey everyone! Today I went with Emma to Tom’s Farm and we took our dolls along to take pics of! I only took about 4, but I hope you like them anyway!
My mom said that I should edit some of the pics, so I did! What do you think of this one?
Jenna and Jess are so cute
I like this picture! 😀
And this is my absolute favorite! The water was so pretty!
Day 22 – What I’m looking forward to:
Okay, well obviously….. The MARYELLEN DEBUT!! Like seriously, I’m SO excited for it!! 😀
I’m also really looking forward to being a bridesmaid in my brother’s wedding next year!! EEE!!! 😀
Opening some Vinylmation boxes in a few days (I hope I get Kanan, I hope I get Kanan)!
Going to Disneyland! We just got unblocked for the summer, so I’m really excited to go back!
Aaaaanddd…. Hmmm…. I think that’s probably it for now! Of course I’m looking forward to Christmas and colder weather. BRING ON THE JACKETS AND BOOTS AND HATS, OH MY! LOLOL! Sorry, I’m a little crazy today 😀
What are you most looking forward to?
Hey guys! Today I got around to making a photostory and then I cleaned my room, so I feel really good right now! Plus, I’m listening to the Tangled soundtrack, so that’s always awesome! 😀
Now, let’s get on with the photostory!
“Samantha? Do you have to do that right now?” Riven-Delle asked her sister who was busy cleaning out the closet.
Without looking up from her work she replied, “Yes! If I don’t do it no one else will and it needs to be done!”
With a sigh and a shake of her head, Riven-Delle leaned back in her chair and tried to concentrate on what to write in her writing journal.
Clara entered the room and spotted Samantha cleaning out the closet. “Um, Samantha? Didn’t you just clean out the closet yesterday?” Clara inquired.
“Yes, but it has to be done again because no one ever puts things away properly!” Samantha stated in frustration. Clara knew very well that the purses at least hadn’t been touched at all since she cleaned the closet last, but she didn’t press the matter for she knew that Samantha loved to clean more than anyone.
“Are you okay, Riven-Delle? You look tired.” Clara observed.
“Oh, no, I’m just having trouble concentrating.” Riven-Delle replied with a slight grin.
“Oh, I see. Well I’m just getting some paper, but I’ll do my best not to distract you.” Clara said with a smile.
As Clara grabbed a sheet of paper, it slipped and lightly scraped her finger.
“Ow!” Clara yelped and then let out a quiet hiss. “What happened?” Samantha asked as she instantly turned her head at Clara’s cry of pain.
“Oh, it’s nothing. Just a paper cut.” Clara reassured her sister.
As Clara picked the paper off of the floor, she looked at her finger and saw that it was bleeding.
Clara instantly closed her eyes and turned away while taking deep breaths. “Clara, what’s wrong?” Riven-Delle inquired as she jumped out of her chair.
“I’m feeling faint.” Clara said softly.
Riven-Delle and Samantha rushed to their sister and helped her to the chair.
“Alright, put your head down. You’ll be okay.” Riven-Delle comforted as Clara did as she was told.
“What made you get all faint so suddenly?” Samantha asked.
“I looked at my finger and saw that it was bleeding.” Clara explained.
Clara sat up once she was feeling better and said, “You know, Riven-Delle-
-I hate paper cuts.”
So yeah, this photostory was inspired by the paper cut I got yesterday. When I saw my finger was bleeding I had to instantly look away cause I felt close to faintness. I wasn’t nearly as bad as Clara, but since she faints a lot, I thought it could work with her LOL!
Now, for Day 21 – Favorite recipe:
Hmm…. This is hard. I guess I’ll just go with the Funfetti Cookie recipe! They’re SO good and my brother, Jordan LOVES them! I can’t wait to make them this winter! 😀
Do you ever get faint when you see blood?
So, I decided to add freckles to Jocelyn!! I was going through all our markers trying to find a brown washable one, but I couldn’t find one that was labeled washable, so I tested one on Jocelyn’s leg (up near the top where it doesn’t show) and then washed it off. It came out instantly, so I got to work on putting a bunch of cute freckles on Jocelyn’s face! I’m gonna be honest with you, I was really scared and I had to redo her freckles several times before I finally got it right! It was seriously SO much fun, though and it makes me wanna add freckles to some of my other dolls! LOL! So, let’s get on with the photoshoot so you can see the new Jocelyn! 😀
EEE!! I’m seriously so happy!!! I think Jocelyn looks way cuter with freckles!! 😀
You can see better in this picture that I added a single darker freckle by the top right corner of her mouth, and down by her chin on the left. I added those because I have freckles like that on my face
She really looks so much like me now! Just change the hairstyle to curly, fluffy hair and you’ve got it! LOL!
Well, that’s all the pics! What do you think of Jocelyn with freckles?
Have you ever added freckles to your doll?
Oh! And I added Jocelyn to the Meet My Dolls page, so be sure to check that out! Thank you all so much for your personality suggestions! They were all so great 😀
Hey everyone! This morning the weather was seriously so amazing, so I just had to take some pictures and I thought a photoshoot with two dolls would be fun
Aren’t they so cute?! 😀
Oh, my goodness, she is SO CUTE!!! LOL!
LOL! I went inside for a minute cause my mom was getting a phone call and when I came back out, they just looked so tiny and adorable! 😀
Okay, I’m loving this picture <3
Now for some edited pics! 😀
Hey everyone! Before I get into the dolly part of this post, lemme just wish my oldest brother, Jacob a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! 😀
Alrighty, now back to the posty (I add y’s to words sometimes because it’s fun LOL!)!
Yes, I got MAG – or now I should say, TrulyMe – #59!!! When my mom peeked in my room to see what dolls were on my wishlist, she got her for me from Jill’s Steals and Deals and I was SO excited!! I’m considering adding freckles to her so she will look more like me… What do you think?
Anyways, yesterday after I finished taking pictures for the photostory, I instantly did a photoshoot of Jocelyn! 😀
She is SO cute!! Her hair is kinda hard for styling, but it’ll be okay. It’s not much different from “Jane’s” Oh! And Jocelyn’s middle name is Marie! 😀
I’m not sure what her personality is yet. It’s so hard to think of different personalities when you have 20 dolls LOL! She’s obviously an animal lover, though 😀
I love her chocolate eyes
Her hair is so pretty! The color is VERY close to mine, only I have red highlights 😉
I FINALLY MUSTERED UP MY COURAGE AND WENT NEAR THE SCARY FLOWERS!!!! LOLOL!!! We’ve always had these pretty flowers in our backyard but I’ve always been so scared to get anywhere near them! I always think that there are rats or something living in there LOL! 😀 XD
Jocelyn is a very beautiful and rather photogenic doll and I am so grateful to have her! She will be added to the “Meet My Dolls” page just as soon as I can come up with a personality for her!
Do you think I should add freckles to Jocelyn? Do you have any suggestions for a personality?
Have a great day, everyone! 😀
Following my new mom’s directions, I headed out back to introduce myself to a couple of my many new siblings. I saw a boy and a girl playing with a little gray husky puppy. They looked friendly, but I myself have always been a shy girl and always felt a little insecure when meeting new people. I wished that my mom, Jaclynn was here to introduce me, but she had something very important to do, so I was on my own. I took a deep breath in and slowly let it out. Okay, I can do this.
I hesitantly walked over to them, but they were so distracted with the puppy that they didn’t even notice I was there. I had hoped they would notice me so they would start up a conversation, but now it was up to me. What was I to say? I guess that “hi” would work, but I felt like my voice would be so soft that they wouldn’t hear me, so instead I cleared my throat to get their attention.
They quickly looked my way, their faces very confused. The puppy however, seemed delighted to see me and started running over to me. The girl called out, “Pepper! Come here!”, but he didn’t listen. He kept right on running until he reached-
-my feet. His tiny tongue tickled so much as he licked away at my toes, I couldn’t help but giggle.
I reached down and gave his ear a little scratch.
“He really likes you!” The girl said kindly and I smiled. “So, who are you?” The boy inquired, still seeming confused.
“I’m Jocelyn. I’m your new sister…” I replied questioningly. I didn’t understand why they were so confused. I thought Jaclynn would have told them I was coming…
The boy and girl looked at each other with surprise. “I can’t believe mommy didn’t tell us!” The girl said in disbelief.
They both came closer and the girl said, “My name is Kiara and this is Dallas.”
“And that’s Pepper.” Dallas announced as he gestured to the little puppy resting by my feet.
“I’m sorry if we seemed a little rude. We were just really caught off guard when you told us you were our sister.” Kiara apologized.
“Oh, it’s okay! I understand.” I assured her.
“So how old are you?” Dallas questioned.
“Fifteen.” I replied.
“You seem to have a really nice way with animals. Do you have a pet?” Kiara inquired.
“No, I don’t, but I have always wanted a dog and a horse!” I said dreamily.
Kiara gasped. “We have to have Lissie, Saige, and Kaya show her the horses!” She exclaimed, looking at Dallas with a huge smile on her face.
“You have horses?!” I asked excitedly and probably a little too loudly. This place just suddenly got amazing!
“Yeah! We have two horses and three foals!” Kiara said, smiling broadly.
“Oh, my gosh!! FOALS?!” I squealed.
I eagerly followed Dallas into the house, with Kiara and Pepper not far behind.
Horses? Foals?! Even with how shy I am, my excitement over something can really help me feel so comfortable around people. And Dallas and Kiara were really nice, so I was sure that if the others were anything like them, I was going to absolutely love it here.
With help from
It was my mom’s birthday, just a couple days after we had been offered the puppy and Mom and I were getting anxious for my dad’s reply. We wondered if maybe he would say yes today, since it’s my mom’s birthday…
My mom was sitting at the dining table, scrolling through Facebook on her phone and drinking her caramel coffee.
I walked in after catching up on some blogs I follow on the computer and said, “I wonder if daddy’s gonna say yes today…”
Mom looked at me and lightly shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know.” She replied. We chatted a while longer and a text message popped up on my mom’s phone from my dad. My heart started to race. He was never on his phone at work, only when he called my mom at lunch. Maybe he was just saying “Happy Birthday”, but my hopes were raised.
I watched anxiously as my mom read her text and a smile spread across her face and her fingers began typing back.
“What did he say?” I asked with a heart full of hope.
My mom smiled at me and said, “He said ‘Have decided to let you have the puppy. Happy Birthday, I love you!'”
I started to cry and squealed and I gave my mom a huge hug. I couldn’t believe he actually said yes! And that this was even real! We were getting a puppy!!
“Are you going to tell everybody today?” I inquired. “Yeah, I think so! Probably at dinner.” She replied. “I wonder how Dallas will take it…” I said, thinking about my brother who had just lost his dog almost a year ago. I know it still hurt him, so I wondered how he would feel about having another dog around.
“He’ll probably be how I was. Maybe a little sad at first, but then happy to have a puppy around again.” Mom replied.
I nodded my head and smiled broadly. “I can’t believe we’re getting a puppy!!”
This concludes part 2! Look for part 3 coming soon!
P.S. The next photostory to be up will be the next part of Sadie’s Hope!
Hey everyone! I’m starting a little series here and I’ll probably get each part up weekly or maybe twice a week. And no, Sadie’s Hope is not cancelled. We’re hoping to have the next part up by next week sometime So without further ado, I present to you – “An Unexpected Gift”
“It was SO good, though, but I just wanna watch more!” She giggled as she leaned forward on the couch to get up.
Annika’s mom went on her phone to see a FaceBook message and Annika leaned in to read it, too. It said,
“Hi Riven-Delle! I remember reading a while back that you lost your doggy, and I wanted to offer to gift you a Labrador Retriever puppy! She’s due in a few days, so let me know ”
“Wow… That is so sweet.” Mom breathed in her awe and sad struck daze. Since it was nearing a year since their last dog’s passing, she felt really sad thinking about her.
“She’s offering to GIFT it to us?” Annika asked, making sure she read that right. “Yeah, gift.” Mom repeated. “Oh, my gosh! That is so nice…” Annika said, her voice trailing off. She thought of how sweet that lady was to offer to do that. She thought of her brother’s dog that passed away almost a year ago. And she realized how much she wanted to have a dog again. “I wish we could take it… We can’t, huh?” She asked.
“I don’t know. I don’t think so.” Mom replied. Annika felt sad inside. She knew that her dad wouldn’t want a dog again, because he had said so before, but she remembered him asking her a question just the other day… “You know it’s so interesting that this comes up now. Daddy asked me the other day – Mom wants another dog, huh? And I told him – yeah. Isn’t that interesting that this comes up just a few days after?” Annika said. Mom’s eyes widened. “Yeah.. When did he ask you that?” She inquired. “On Saturday when we went shopping for your birthday.” Annika replied. They sat in silence for a moment and Annika said, “It would be so amazing to have a puppy again. To love and cuddle and for it to love us…”
Mom agreed and started to cry. Annika knew exactly what she was thinking about.
Annika placed her arm around her mom’s shoulder and began crying, too. She missed pup, too.
“Do you want the puppy?” Annika asked her mom. “You, know, I had planned on never getting another dog. I didn’t want one, and I didn’t think it would ever happen, but this has totally opened up my heart. Yeah, I want it. And I had planned on finally cleaning up all of pup’s stuff after a year passed and selling her crate, too.” Mom replied through her tears. “Wow! That’s so interesting! It’s like, daddy asked me that question, then you had been planning to get rid of pup’s stuff, and then this lady offers to give us a puppy! Something we couldn’t even afford to buy! It’s almost like, this is meant to be.” Annika smiled, then asked, “Are you gonna talk to Daddy about it?”
“Yeah, I’ll bring it up when he calls me at lunch.” Mom answered.
As Annika was waiting for her lunch, she was telling her friend all about the puppy and all that happened. Her mom was on the phone with her dad, and she was so anxious to hear his answer!
Then she noticed her mom coming out of the hall with a smile on her face. “What happened?” Annika asked hopefully.
Mom sat down beside her daughter and said, “He told me that the reason he asked you if I wanted a dog is because he wanted to bring me a little puppy on my birthday. But he got to thinking about it all realistically and decided that it wouldn’t work out.” Annika thought it was so sweet of her dad to want to do that for her mom, but she got disappointed. “So it’s a no?” She inquired. “He’s thinking about it. He told me not to say no yet.” Mom replied with a smile.
Annika placed her hand over her mouth as happy tears entered her eyes. “Oh, my gosh!! I’m so excited!! He’s actually thinking about it!!” Annika exclaimed as tears ran down her cheeks. Annika and her mom both cried and squealed and talked more about the puppy. When mom went in the kitchen to reply to the lady, Annika grabbed her iPod and texted her friend.
***NOTE- Please click on the pictures to see the messages more clearly
They texted so much that day about puppies! Annika’s mom also said that she was thinking about breeding! When Annika went to bed that night, she prayed hard about the puppy. She prayed that if it was God’s will that they have another puppy, then that the answer would come quickly and that they would have the love and patience and strength to do this.
That ends part one! The next part will be up very soon!
