Interview With The Stars Of “Fire Cove”
Hello everyone! Today I got a request to do an interview with my “kids” of what they think of the story and their characters. So, I decided to do it! Annika’s answers will be in purple and Elijah’s will be in green 🙂
First question:
How do you like being a pirate?
“I really enjoy acting as a pirate! I would never have thought that I would like being one, but it is just really fun! I know a lot of people think that pirates are bad, but you know there are also some really good ones! Like, they’re not entirely good because they pilfer and sometimes- harm people, but there are some good ones like Victoria and Elinor, who mostly look for buried treasure.”
“I love it. It’s awesome! I really love my character because Jake is so cool and good, but he’s also bad, and he’s just awesome! I mean seriously, I can use a sword and swing on ropes! PLUS I get to wear an awesome black coat!”
Second question:
How do you like your character?
“That is a really good question! I really like Victoria. She is so nice and caring and always wants to do the right thing. Something I really like about her is that she was a super, and I mean super rich girl and she gave up that life to be a pirate. Like if she had stayed in her rich life she would never have a care in the world, but since she chose the life of a pirate, I’m sure that she definitely worries about a lot of things.”
“Aw, man! I don’t even know where to start! Jake is so cool! He’s brave and cool and just- I don’t know! Like I said earlier he’s good and bad. I think the best way to put it is that he’s a bad guy, but he has a good heart. Well, yeah there’s some bad in his heart of course, but deep down he is really a great guy. Like the only reason he is bad is because his dad and other pirates made him that way. His dad made him wanna leave and be a pirate and after being one for six years and other pirates saying he was the ‘Weakest Pirate’ that just really hurt him. So yeah, I think he’s a good guy.”
Third question:
How are Jake and Victoria doing right now?
“Victoria is of course, very heartbroken. I mean she loved Jake and he tricked her and lied to her, so Victoria is in a rough spot right now.”
“Well, I’d say Jake is pretty happy and content right now. He has The Cube of Light, power and, yeah. He’s doing alright. But he feels a little bad for lying to Victoria which is why I think he promised that Elena would be okay.”
Fourth question:
What does the rest of this series hold in store for us?
“Oh, that’s a really hard one! I guess to sum it all up I’d say it’s going to have excitement, sorrow, and-”
“Happiness?”
“Yeah, pretty much. As well as, hmmm.. How do I put this? Stress. I believe some of the audience will be stressed and there may also be some anger…”
“I don’t think there’s anger.”
“Yeah, maybe not…”
Moving on!
Fifth question:
Many people are wondering if there is still hope that Jake and Victoria will get together?
“Well, you never know. If Jake apologizes to Victoria and turns from the ‘dark side’, then who knows?”
“I find it very unlikely. Jake has power now and that’s all that’s important to him. Why would he give that up, right?”
Last question:
Why can’t pirates be married?
“Well, before you become a pirate there are several things you must agree to. There’s a big book and all pirates call it ‘The Code’. In that book are several rules or terms that you have to live by as a pirate. And sadly one of them is that you can’t marry. The reason is because if a pirate were to be married they would constantly be looking out for their husband or wife and protecting them from harm. They’d be putting each other first, but according to another ‘Code’ it clearly says ‘Every man for himself’ and ‘Any pirate who falls behind gets left behind’. So, that is why pirates are not allowed to marry.”
Thank you Annika and Elijah for joining us today! We hope to do this again soon!

Fire Cove~ Part 4
“Victoria! Victoria, wake up!” Jake was waking me up from a sound sleep. “Jake? What is it?” I asked with a yawn.
“Blackheart just contacted me. She said that we need to bring her The Cube of Light tomorrow!” Jake said very distressed.
“Oh, no, but Elinor doesn’t have it.” I replied, though I knew I was lying.
“Victoria, her sister’s life could be at stake! If you know something, you have to tell me.” Jake said, but I didn’t answer.
“It’s okay, Victoria. You can trust me.” He said with a smile.
I sighed, “Alright. Come with me.” I said quietly.
I led him into Elinor’s office. I knew I was doing something wrong, but I couldn’t let anything happen to Elena! Elinor would be so thankful if she knew I helped save her.
“Jake, why didn’t you tell Elinor what Blackheart said?” I asked. “Because I know that she would not have given it to her. But I know that you wouldn’t let anything happen to Elena.” Jake explained. Well, that made sense.
I opened a secret drawer in her desk and took out the Cube of Light. I glanced at Jake and saw his mouth wide open. He was definitely in awe!
“Whoa! I can’t believe this is it!” Jake said in a whisper.
“Now, you promise that Elena will be safe?” I asked him with a look of worry.
A sinister grin spread across his face. “Thank you for giving me The Cube of Light, Victoria. I’ve been after this for a long time. Without you, I would never have gotten it.”
“Jake! What about Blackheart? And Elena?” I asked, raising my voice.
“That was all a lie! Blackheart has nothing to do with this.” Jake said. “Then what about Elena?” I asked, my eyes welling with tears. “Oh, that. I’m the one who took her captive. I had to have something to make Elinor give me The Cube! Oh, wait. She didn’t give it to me-you did.” Jake said. “B-but why? Why are you doing this?” I stammered.
“I need power, Victoria. I don’t want to be known as the ‘Weakest Pirate’ anymore. Every pirate I ever encountered called me that when they heard about my old life. But no more. Now that I have The Cube of Light, everyone will fear me.” Jake explained.
He looked down at me crying on the floor and said, “Don’t worry. Elena will be safe.” He said it with the deepest sincerity. I looked up at him and he looked sad, but happy. It was as if he lost something and gained something.
I stayed on the floor crying for a long while after he left. I had been deceived by his kindness.
After I had cried all of my tears I went to speak with Elinor.
“Elinor, I need to tell you something.” I said sadly. Elinor looked at me closely, “What is it?” She asked.
“Oh, Elinor! I did something horrible!! Jake tricked me into giving him The Cube of Light! He said that Blackheart wanted it by tomorrow! But it was really him who wanted it! He’s gone now and it’s all my fault!” I cried. Elinor was heartbroken and so disappointed in me.
“Victoria, I think you know that you have to do whatever it takes now to get The Cube of Light back, don’t you?” Elinor asked.
“Yes. I’ll do whatever I can.” I replied.
Elinor shouted, “Jake will pay for what he has done to us!!”
That’s the end of Part 4! Look for Part 5 coming tomorrow! 😀

Fire Cove~ Part 3
I went below deck where Jake was cleaning his sword. I had something I wanted to ask him. “Jake, can I ask you something?” He looked up from his work. “Aye, you can.” He replied.
I sat down with a sigh and asked, “Why did you want to be a pirate?” Jake looked at me with a grin. “I’ve been wonderin’ when you were gonna ask that. You’ve always been the curious type.” He said. I looked down feeling a little bad for asking. Then he said,
“My father was never really there for me. He went to work early in the morning and came home late at night. As soon as he would sit down on his favorite chair he would tell me he wanted me to be a doctor. He’d scold me if I missed one problem in my school work. So when I was of age I decided it was finally time to get out of here. I made everyone believe I was going to medical school so that leaving would be easy. I planned to be a pirate for about two years. I was so thrilled when I was finally able to live my dream.” He sounded so proud of himself, but I didn’t understand why.
“But that still doesn’t answer my question. Why did you want to be a pirate?” I asked again.
“Because I could do whatever I pleased! I could go anywhere I wanted to go and have anything I wanted. A pirate’s life is the best life for me.” Jake finished with a smile. Then he asked, “So what about you? Why’d you leave your luxurious life to be a pirate?”
I giggled. “Well, believe me, I hadn’t planned it all out like you did. Captain Elinor came to my door one evening looking for a key which I had found the day before. So she told us what she was doing and soon enough I volunteered to join her on her adventure. After the chest was found I had a feeling inside that was telling me that this is where I belonged. I’ve been on this ship for about a year now.” I explained. Jake looked at me as if he was interested in my story.
“And what was in the chest?” He asked.
“Oh, it was treasure that belonged to Elinor’s parents.” I said.
“What were her parent’s names?” Jake asked. He looked very anxious to find out.
“Uh- I believe they were Alice and Elliot McGovern.” I said. He looked away as if he was thinking of something. “Why did you want to know?” I asked.
“Nothing- it was-uh-nothing. I was just wondering.” He said quickly. “I’d better see where we are.” He said and went on deck. “He’s acting rather peculiar.” I said to myself. “Oh, it’s probably nothing.”
As I stood up I saw Elinor standing in a corner. She was spying on us!
“Elinor, is there something you needed?” I asked. She just stared at me and then she said harshly, “What have I told ye about mentioning my parent’s names and their treasure chest to people?”
“But Jake is my friend! He would never think of stealing from you!” I said.
“Listen, Victoria, I know he’s yer friend, but you haven’t seen him in six years. We don’t know that we can trust him!” Elinor explained.
“What is so dangerous of others knowing about your parent’s treasure anyways?” I asked.
Elinor came close to my ear and whispered, “The Cube of Light belongs to them.” I gasped. “Then why don’t you-” I blurted out, but Elinor covered my mouth and hushed me.
I whispered, “Then why don’t you give it to Blackheart and save Elena?” Elinor looked at me worriedly. “Because the Cube of Light is powerful and it could be used to destroy an entire city. If Blackheart had control of it she would destroy every city that threatens her. That is why she wants to trade for it!” Elinor said.
“I understand. But why did Blackheart say you stole it from her?” I asked.
“Because she stole it from my parents and they got it back from her! They paid for it with their lives…” Elinor’s voice trailed off. She cleared her throat, “Come, let’s go on deck.” She said.
I felt sorry for Elinor and I hoped I was right about Jake.
That’s the end of Part 3! Look for Part 4 coming soon! 🙂

Fire Cove~ Part 2
As I lay asleep that night I felt something poking my shoulder. “Hm, what’s wrong?” I asked. It was Elinor trying to wake me up.
“Captain Turner is up to something. I have a feelin’ that he’s working with Blackheart.” I looked at Elinor with surprise. “Elinor, Jake wouldn’t do anything like that. I’ve known him for a long time and he has always been a man of good form. Anyways, why would he want your sister?” I asked.
“That I haven’t figured out yet. All I know is that he’s up to no good. He can’t be trusted.” Elinor said. I sighed, “Well you can be cautious of him if you want, but I happen to know that he can be trusted. He was fine man back in Aztec.”
Elinor studied me for a moment. “You don’t love him do you?” Elinor asked with concern.
“Of course not! I could never love Jake, I only consider him a friend and that is all. Anyways, you know that pirates can’t be married. It’s part of the Code and it’s something we all agree to when we become pirates. I am very shocked you even said such a thing.” I replied.
I said goodnight and went back to bed. I wanted to try getting a little sleep before the break of dawn.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our day started out pretty good. Jake and Elinor talked over what needed to be done and Celeste, Juliet, and I talked with each other. “What do ye think of Captain Turner?” Juliet asked.
“I think he’s suspicious. He pauses too much when you ask him a question.” Celeste replied.
“I think he’s just shy. He probably doesn’t talk to a lot of people now.” I said. I guess I was trying to defend him. He was my friend, after all.
“V-v-victoria..” Juliet stammered.
“Juliet, what’s wron-?” I was cut off when Jake yelled,
“Victoria, watch out!”
I spun around and could not believe my eyes!
There right in front of me was the vicious Leviathan! I had heard so many tales and songs about it that seeing it was almost amazing! But still, I was absolutely frozen in fear!
I could not move. I could hardly hear Juliet and Celeste who were trying to tell me what to do and to get away slowly.
The Leviathan had it’s mouth wide open and was  just about to get me when, “Victoria!!”
Jake came running towards me with his sword. As he pushed me to the ground with his left hand he killed the Leviathan with his right.
Within a second after Jake killed it, he was helping me up.
“Are you alright?” Jake asked with concern. “Y-yes, I’m fine.” I said, although I was a bit shaken.
“Good. I’m gonna clean my sword now.” He said.
“Jake, wait! Why did you do that? You could’ve been seriously injured- or worse!” I said.
Jake looked at me with a grin. “I know, but I couldn’t let anything happen to you.”
That’s the end of Part 2! Look for Part 3 hopefully coming tomorrow! 😀
Fire Cove~ Part 1
My name is Victoria Farnsworth. About a year ago I was a normal girl living in a mansion with my mother and father in the town of Aztec. All that changed when a pirate captain came to our door looking for a key to unlock a chest. I had found the key just the day before and before I knew it, I had volunteered to go on some crazy treasure hunt with the captain. I never imagined this would happen, but now I am a pirate, sailing the seas with my captain, Elinor McGovern and her crew mates Celeste and Juliet. I really couldn’t be happier! But then, someone showed up and I soon discovered that, yes, I could be so much happier…
“Captain, I see a ship headin’ our way!” Juliet called from the crow’s nest.
Captain Elinor turned her gaze toward the ship and said, “Aye, I can see it. If it seems to be goin’ right past us, just ignore it.”
“But, if it seems to be followin’ us we’ll have to make contact.” Captain Elinor ordered.
As the ship drew nearer we could tell that whoever was on that ship wanted to talk. Pretty soon we were right next to each other and someone from the other ship called, “Ahoy, thar! I wish to speak to the captain of yer ship!” Â It was a man’s voice and something about it sounded familiar. Like a voice I had heard a long time ago.
Elinor replied, “I’m the captain of this ship! What do ye want?”
“May I come aboard? Indeed I mean you no harm, only to talk.” The man said. Elinor thought for a moment then she said, “Aye, you may. But ye must come weaponless!”
“So be it.” The man replied and swung over on a rope.
“Are you Captain Elinor McGovern?” He asked with a look of worry.
As soon as I saw his face I knew I had seen him before. “Who is this man? Surely I do not know him as a pirate. I’m sure I’ve seen his face before when I was younger!” I said to myself.
“Aye, I am. And who might you be?” Elinor asked.
“I am Captain Ja-” He paused as he noticed me. “Victoria? Is that you?” He asked.
“That depends on who is asking.” I replied. Since he obviously knew who I was, I knew I must know him as well. But still, I never gave out my name to anybody until I knew who they were.
“It’s me, Jake.” He said.
“Jake Turner? It can’t be you! You can’t be the same Jake who went off to medical school. That was six years ago!” I said.
“I didn’t go to medical school. I left so I could be who I am now, a pirate captain. It’s all I’ve ever wanted. I know I shouldn’t have lied to everyone, but the past is in the past. And I have to say, Â it is certainly good to see a familiar face.” He said. I was in such a state of shock that all I could do was smile.
“Well, Captain Turner, what is it ye need?” Jake almost forgot what he was doing here.
“Ah, yes. I-I bring bad tidings.” He stammered. It seemed hard for him to get out the words. “Your sister, Elena, is being held captive by the evil Blackheart Jones. She tracked me down and sent me to find you and tell you.” He said. Captain Elinor looked down at her feet. For years Elinor hadn’t gotten along with her sister. It wasn’t until last year that they finally made amends. I thought that it must’ve been hard for Elinor to hear that Elena was a captive. “What must I do?” Elinor asked.
“Blackheart says yer to bring her the Cube of Light which you stole. Only then will she let your sister go free.” Jake explained.
“The Cube of Light? What makes her think I stole it? I’ve never had it in my hands before!” Elinor said. Jake thought for a moment before replying. “I don’t know what her plans are, but if you don’t return it to her within a fortnight, there will be major consequences.” He said quickly. “I will take my leave now.”
He was just about to reach for a rope to swing back to his ship on when Elinor said, “Stop! You delivered this message. You know what I need to do! You will help me find the Cube of Light and free my sister, or else.”
Jake sighed, “Very well. We set our course for Fire Cove.”
That’s the end of Part 1! Look for Part 2 coming soon! 😀
A Pirate Adventure~ Part 9 The GRAND FINALE!
Yes! It was Elinor! I knew she would come!
“Elena, what do you want for me to give you, so that you will not harm Miss Victoria?” Elinor asked.
“What do I want? I want the KEY! What do you think?!?” Elena exclaimed.
“Very well, I will give it to you.” Elinor said.
I watched restlessly as Elinor was about to give the key to Elena. If she won, we would’ve come all this way for nothing!
Then suddenly, Elinor grabbed her sister and said,
“Victoria, catch!!” and she threw the key.
“Got it!!” I yelled.
When I looked down I saw Elinor and Elena fighting. “Oh, no.” I thought to myself.
“Enough, Elinor!! You’ve lost!!” Elena cried.
“You misunderstand, sister. You’re the one who has lost!!” Elinor grunted as she tried to get Elena off of her.
“AMELIA GET THE KEY FROM VICTORIA!! You may have 65% of the treasure!” Elena commanded. Just as Amelia was heading towards me, Celeste rushed forward.
“Oh, no you don’t, matie!” Celeste yelled as she pushed Amelia to the ground.
Juliet rushed to the aid of Celeste.
“Get off of her!” Juliet yelled.
“Stop, she’s my friend!” Rosa ordered.
I looked down at them all fighting and was troubled. Then I remembered the riddle:
“Take Heed!
Once inside the cave
A hero will save!
Tis’ no easy task
Ye should wear a mask”
“Perhaps the riddle means that I have to save my friends and restore everyone else’s friendship. ‘Wear a mask’ could mean that I need to be someone different to help everyone.” I thought to myself.
I went to Juliet and pulled her off of Rosa.
“Victoria, what are ya doing? She works for Elena!” Juliet said.
“That doesn’t mean that she’s evil, Juliet!” I said.
Then I walked over to Celeste and Amelia and IÂ seperated them.
“You all wait here and just ignore each other for a sec, okay?” I ordered.
I pulled Elinor off of Elena and said,
“Elinor, think about who you’re fighting. This is your sister and as bad as she may be, she deserves a second chance.” I whispered.
“Everyone, stop fighting and listen to me for a moment!” I said, “I have come a long way and I have seen things I’ve only read about. It’s been quite a journey with a lot of hard work and determination. And I’m not going to see all that go to waste.”
“What exactly are you trying to say, missy?” Elena asked, getting bored of all the talk.
“Elena, Elinor, you’re sisters! I don’t know what happened between you two, but it needs to stop. Now, instead of both of you fighting to get to the chest first, so one of you ends up rich and happy and the other poor and miserable, why don’t you split the share of your parent’s treasure?” I suggested. Elinor smiled and said,
“I’d go for that.” And Elena agreed.
“Good! Elena, because of all that you have done I am going to give the key to Elinor.” I said.
“That’s not fair! We should both open the chest if we both have to share it!” Elena said not happy with the decision.
“You can help lift the top open, but there is no way I can trust you with the key!” I explained.
I handed the key to Elinor and she unlocked the chest.
“Wow!” Elinor and Elena exclaimed at the same time.
“Elinor, I want to apologize for how I have acted these past few years. I don’t know what came over me. We always used to have fun when we were younger, didn’t we?” Elena said.
“Aye, we did.” Elinor replied with a sigh.
“I want to change my ways and be a good older sister to you. Can you ever forgive me?” Elena asked.
“Aye, I forgive you, Elena.” Elinor said.
“Victoria, I am so sorry for what I have and what I have almost done to you. Could you forgive me?” Elena asked me.
“Of course.” I said with a smile.
I said goodbye to Rosa and Amelia. I thought of everything that had happened those past 2 weeks. Then suddenly, I knew where I belonged.
Weeks past and Captain McGovern’s ship was back in order. Celeste and Juliet looked on the horizon from the crows nest and Captain Elinor was at the wheel with her new crew mate…
I- Â Victoria Farnsworth who used to live a wealthy life and never used to do any work at all, was now a pirate.
I guess that Captain Elinor was right- it truly is a pirate’s life for me!
THE END
A Pirate Adventure~ Part 8
I want to apologize for taking so long to post this part of my series. These past 2 days I’ve been very busy 😉
I slept so peacefully that night (probably because I was actually in a bed!). I woke up suddenly to hear Captain Elena saying,
“Weigh anchor! Prepare to go ashore!”
“We must be at Isla del Tesoro!” I thought to myself.
“Rosa, take the wheel. I’m going to go below deck for a moment.” Captain Elena said.
“Aye, Cap’n!” Rosa replied.
I was just sitting on the bed thinking when,
“So, you’re still here.” Captain Elena said.
“Oh, no! I’m done for!” I thought to myself.
“Well, as long as you’re here you might as well stay with us. Come on deck, we’re gettin’ ready to go ashore.” Captain Elena ordered. I didn’t know what to say, so I just followed her up the stairs. How in the world did she know I was down there? And why was she being so nice?
“There it is. Isla del Tesoro!” Captain Elena said with a grin.
The island was so beautiful with palm trees and all sorts of lovely plants. And right in the middle of the island was an aisle of palm trees and a cave right at the end of it. “That must be where the treasure is.” I thought. Then, suddenly remembering the riddle, I got afraid. I so hoped that Captain Elinor was there waiting to fight! Perhaps she was the ‘hero who would save.’Â
Amelia put down the ramp and Captain Elena walked down from the ship.
“It’s good to be rich!” She sighed.
We walked up to the cave and there way in the back, was the chest!
“Wow.” I sighed as I thought of how far I’d come. Who would have ever thought that I would be standing in the middle of a cave looking at a treasure chest. It was pretty amazing.
“Open it up, Captain!” Amelia excalimed.
“I have to get out of here!” I said to myself.
Then, noticing some big rocks, I decided this was my chance!Â
While they were all occupied looking at the chest, I started climbing.
“Why isn’t it opening?!? Why isn’t it working?!?!?” Captain Elena yelled.
“The key!!” She gasped, “She gave me the wrong key!!!”
She spun around and saw me on the rocks.
“What key did you give me?!? Where is the real key?!?!?” She yelled at me.
“The key I gave you is to my home. The real key is with your sister!” I said and this time I was the one who was grinning!
Just as Elena was about to yell at me again I heard a voice say,
“Stop right there, Elena!”
Â
That’s where we end Part 8! Look for the GRAND FINALE coming tomorrow! 😀
~Jaclynn~
A Pirate Adventure~ Part 7
I didn’t sleep a wink that night. So when morning finally came I decided I was going to get out of here. “Come on you rope! Untie!” I grunted. I was trying to wiggle my way out of that rope!
“Whew! Free at last!” I thought to myself. Knowing that I couldn’t get off of the ship unseen I looked for something to fight with. I found a metal tube in the corner.
When I picked it up I almost dropped it because it was so heavy! “I better not hit anybody with this. It’ll work good as a warning, though!” I thought to myself.
“Do you hear something below deck, Rosa?” Captain Elena asked.
“No, Captain.” Rosa replied.
“You stay up here. I’m gonna go check in on our guest.” Captain Elena said.
I suddenly remembered Captain Elena asking me if I knew any riddles. “Hmm.. I wonder..” I said aloud. I pulled out a note that Captain Elinor had given me my first day on her ship. On the front it read:
“TOP SECRET! DO NOT OPEN!”
I thought that I should open it up. Maybe it was important!
It was a riddle! Just as Captain Elena said! It read:
“Take Heed!
Once inside the cave
A hero will save!
Tis’ no easy task
Ye should wear a mask.”
~Captain Elinor
“What could that mean?” I wondered aloud, “Take heed once inside the cave. A hero will save– A hero will save you? Tis no easy task, Ye should wear a mask– wear a disguise I wonder?” I tried to figure out the riddle. I then realized I should hide it where no one could find it. But where?
I saw a loose board and decided to hide it there.
I reached for my metal tube when a voice said behind:
“Halt! What do you think you’re doing?” Captain Elena said. Oh no! I was caught.
Captain Elena was making me walk the plank. Although I had planned to jump off of the ship and swim to safety, I hadn’t planned for my hands to be tied together.
I turned to Captain Elena and said,
“Captain, I have a deal to offer you.”
“Ah, I see. And what would that be?” Captain Elena asked.
“I stay on this ship and assist you in any way I can. And you do no harm to Captain Elinor and her crew!” I said.
“Hmm…I don’t think so, matie. Go ahead and walk the plank! Your wrists are tied loose enough for you to swim to shore.” Captain Elena said.
I was in tears. When would I ever see my mother and father again?
Just then Rosa plunged towards Captain Elena!
“Victoria, go with Amelia! She’ll make sure you’re safe!” Rosa said.
Amelia led me to a small room with a bed.
“Here, let me help with that.” Amelia said while she untied my wrists.
“What is this room for?” I asked.
“We use it if someone on board gets sick. I’d better get up to the crow’s nest before Captain discovers I’m missing! Just stay down here and don’t make a sound!” Amelia said.
“Alright, thank you so much! And tell Rosa, too.” I said and she went off.
“If you pull a stunt like that again it’s off of my crew you go! This next bit of treasure we’re getting- you won’t get one penny of it! Understand!?” Captain Elena said.
“Aye, Captain.” Rosa replied.
“Captain! Thar it is! Isla del Tesoro!!” Amelia cried out.
That’s where we end Part 7! Look for Part 8 coming tomorrow and the Grand Finale on Wednesday! 😀
A Pirate Adventure~ Part 6
After being swung over to Captain Elena’s ship (yes, we had to swing on a rope!) I gazed back at Captain Elinor. She grinned at me and then winked. I think she was telling me every thing was going to be okay, so I winked back.
“Miss Farnsworth, would you please hand over the key now?” Captain Elena asked. I decided to try and play dumb,
“What key, ma’m?” I asked.
“Don’t play dumb with me, missy! Give me the key to my parent’s treasure chest!” Captain Elena demanded. It was no use fighting- especially with someone I didn’t even know!
I took off my hat to reveal the key. She stared for a moment and then snatched it up.
She stuffed they key in her sleeve where she knew it would be well protected.
“Miss Farnsworth let me tell you something. You are no longer on my sister’s ship anymore, nor are you in her command. Therefore, when I ask you to do something- you do it. Now, do you know any secret about this treasure?” Captain Elena asked me. What did she mean by a “secret”?Â
“I can assure you that I know nothing else about the treasure except that it belonged to your parent’s.” I replied quite honestly.
“So, you don’t know any riddles or anything?” She asked me again.
I paused before answering and said, “No, ma’m, not at all.”
“Rosa! Take Miss Farnsworth below deck.” Captain Elena started, then she whispered, so I wouldn’t hear, “Tie her up. I don’t trust this young lady.”
Before I knew it Rosa grabbed me and was leading me below deck.
I screamed, “What are you doing!? Let me go!!” I demanded. I tried to squirm my way out of her arms, but she was too strong.
“It’s alright. I’m just taking you below deck. There’s nothin’ to worry about.” Rosa said.
“Why are you doing this to me? There’s no reason for me to be tied up like this!” I asked.
“Trust me, I don’t like it any more than you do. I hate having to tie people up!” Rosa replied. She didn’t seem very mean or bad at all!
“Why, you’re not a bad pirate at all, are you? What are you doing working for Elena?” I asked.
“My little brothers and sisters need food. If I don’t work for Elena- I don’t get money and my family doesn’t get food. I have no choice.” Rosa explained.
“Oh, Rosa! I am so sorry!” I said. Then we heard Captain Elena call for Rosa.
“I gotta go. I’ll try to bring you some food later.” Rosa said and she went off.
I felt so sorry for Rosa! What must it be like to have to work for an evil pirate to get food for her brothers and sisters? Although we were so different and lived opposite lives, I could tell Rosa and I would become good friends.
