UGH

Okay, I know the title of this post sounds really blah, but I’m really upset right now.

I was scrolling through my notices on my Instagram and saw that the profile picture of one of the girls that started following me, was MY picture that I took of Riven-Delle!!! It was this one:

And then, I went to her account to see if she took any more, and she did! She posted the one above, and these two:

This one she cropped.

I’m just so annoyed right now. And some of you peeps that have an Instagram might wanna check if she’s taken any of your pictures, too. Her account is:  ag_photoshoots_123

I’ve asked her to remove the pictures and I really hope she listens. This is the second time I’ve had to deal with somebody taking my pictures and it’s really annoying. I guess I really need to start watermarking now. Ugh 🙁

And I’m also sad because now I see that another blog has closed. That makes three this month, that I’ve seen anyways. 🙁

Sorry for the rant, but I just really needed to let this out. Thanks for being so awesome and for reading this post! 🙂

  • I hope she stops copying! I don’t like watermarks. They look so bleh. :p

  • Awww…. you poor girl… 🙁

Which blogs closed? I’m not aware of any… but, I probably don’t follow as many as you. 🙂

    ~Julia Phillips

  • Oh, no! I feel so bad that someone took your gorgeous pictures and called them theirs 🙁 I’ve never had any content/pictures stolen from my blog but I’m sure that it is definitely not fun 🙁 I’m really sorry, but I don’t have an Instagram account so I can’t help in that area though. I don’t currently watermark since no one has taken anything from me, but this makes me want to start doing it again 😛 (The tongue face is meant for the photo-thieves, not you 😉 ) Again, I am really sorry that someone took your pictures, that’s just awful 🙁 They are super good pictures, by the way! 🙂

    ~Shelby-Grace

    • Thanks, I’m glad she removed them, though 🙂 LOL! Yeah, I get it. Watermarking just takes so long with me, cause I usually have a lot of pictures in my posts and I just wanna take the pictures, upload them, and make my post LOL! 😛
      Thank you! 🙂

  • I don’t blame you for being angry. Not only is it wrong, but what this girl is doing is also illegal, as those images are YOUR intellectual property, not hers. If she doesn’t take them down, report her to Instagram, they have a very strict policy, the photos posted are to be yours and ONLY yours. She is likely to be suspended.

I have been following a Craigslist ad for a Lanie doll, but I thought it was kind of overpriced. I was doing a price comparison on Ebay, and oddly enough, I came across a listing for a Lanie doll that was using the exact same photo! Someone, not sure which seller, stole the image from the other person. Or perhaps they both stole it from someone else. All I know is I won’t do business with either, because now I’m not sure if the photo accurately represents the condition of the doll!

Taking other peoples images (even the unreleased AG stuff that people love to leak) is stealing, plain and simple. I’ve been a photographer for years, and it’s always an issue, even if you watermark your images. Annoys me to no end.

    • Exactly! My mom has also had to deal with this several times with things she sells on Etsy and it’s just awful. Yes, we were going to report her, but thankfully, she took them down.

Oh, wow! That’s terrible! I wouldn’t buy from either one of them either 😛
Yeah, it’s really sad that people do that. 🙁

  • Jaclynn- Now this girl changed her name! She’s now ag.studioss
She took your pictures down, though. That’s at least one good thing. Anyways, I’m really sorry for you. I also do not watermark, but my blog doesn’t have many viewers and yours does, so it might be smart. I don’t know.
Is the blog that closed AGNorthwest? It seems like there are a lot that started in Feburuary to April that have since closed, which I think is pretty sad. I mean, JA&U (by Tess and Maggie) and AGN, and Maple Street Dolls…… sigh.
My friends listen to ranting all the time, so I don’t mind. I kinda want to get an Instagram account just so I can see whether or not she steals other people’s pics again. (I looked at hers on my friends, but she is moving soon)

    • I saw that! But it’s actually something else now! It’s like she’s trying to not be found, but she’s still coming up 😛 Yeah, I’m really glad she took them down!
Thanks! Yeah, I think watermarking is always good. I just don’t like the work of it 😛
Yeah, she’s one of them. It makes me SO sad to see blogs close. 🙁
      ~Jaclynn~

  • I’m so sorry that someone took your pictures, Jaclynn! Hopefully she’ll take them down. And isn’t it sad that so many bloggers have left? Emma (not your friend, of course, but the other one), Carli and Kathryn were such great bloggers and friends; I’ll really miss them 🙁
    ~Loren

  • It is so sad when someone takes others pictures. I have been thinking about watermarking my pictures, but I thought it would take too long. I hope it does not happen again,

    Maddie

    • Yeah, it sure is. Watermarking definitely does take a long time to do, but I do think it’s worth it. Especially now 😕
      Thanks! 🙂
      ~Jaclynn~

  • That’s annoying! :-/ I hope she takes them down. 🙁 It is a big hassle to watermark your photos, so I can see why you don’t though.
    I know! It’s so sad! 🙁

    ~Lydia~ <3

  • That’s awful! I don’t have an Instagram yet. Wish I did! I can’t believe she did that without your permission. It makes me mad too! I think I would report her, if you can. What she did is not allowed!
    ~J
P.S. It’s really too bad those blogs closed down. American Girl Northwest just shut down. I’ll really miss her. 🙁

    • I know it’s so wrong! We were going to report her if she didn’t take them down, but she did, so that’s good. Hopefully she won’t try it again.
      ~Jaclynn~
      P.S. I know. I’m really gonna miss her 🙁

  • I’m so sorry people are taking your pictures again. 🙁 I don’t know why people have to copy other’s work. What is curious to me is why this girl followed you on Instagram when she copied one of your pictures?? I mean, what, did she think you wouldn’t notice?
Oh, yeah, I’m also pretty sad about three blogs shutting down. It’s pretty disappointing, but at least there are still so many good ones out there, including yours! 🙂

    • Thanks. I know, it’s so rude 🙁
I don’t know! It doesn’t make sense! And she’s following me, too! 😛
Yeah, it is really sad. Awe, thanks! 😀
      ~Jaclynn~

  • You should put the name of you blog in the corner so if someone copy’s it the person looking at it would know where is came from, that’s what my mom does.

  • But this girl probably took the pictures because she thought they were cool. She probably thinks you’re a good photographer and you have a pretty doll. If that’s the case, then you could feel honored that someone liked my picture enough to make it their profile pic. I’m not trying to tell you off, or anything, I’m just throwing out another perspective. 🙂

    -Morgan

  • I have a friend who watermarks all her photos. It’s time consuming, but worth it in the end. It’s more important the more places you post because our post pictures show up in Internet searches for images. I was shocked the first time I saw some of my pictures show up in google images as search results.

    • Yeah, it definitely is! Oh, I know! I always think it’s so cool to see my pictures in Google searches 🙂
      ~Jaclynn~

  • That’s horrible!! I really hope she takes off the photos.

  • I did notice that you stopped watermarking your photos, but weren’t you doing it before?

    • Yeah, I was doing it for a time, but then I got lazy with it cause it took too long and I just wanted to make a post 😛
      ~Jaclynn~

      • Okay, yeah, I thought so. I’m just wondering, is a watermark any more than just the name of your blog on the photo? Because that’s what I do. I just type out the name of my blog on each of my photos. I didn’t really know if that was watermarking, though. 😛

  • Oh , jaclynn I am sooo sorry! That is so mean! I think that’s like illegal to do. Not sure but there’s probably some law that says something like that. Big virtual hug for you!

  • Hi!
I’m so sorry someone took your wonderful photos! It’s not nice to take other people’s hard-thought ideas and pictures. 🙁

As for blogs closing down-it certainly is sad, but all bloggers have a reason. I was sad to part with The Best Loved Dolls, but I hope I’ll have just as much fun on Hobbits and Hippogriffs! 🙂
    ~Kathryn

    • Thank you! No, it’s not 🙁

Yes, I know, and I understand, but it is still sad to see them go. And I’m sad to The Best Loved Dolls leave, too 🙁
      ~Jaclynn~

  • That stinks that she was using your pictures, and it’s also totally unfair to you! Those were yours! It’s also a bummer about those blogs not being posted on 🙁

  • Oh dear. 🙁 that is totally unfair- I hope she listens up and deletes them, it does seem silly to go to that much trouble to use it as her picture. Good luuucckkkk!!!

  • I woulds say “take it as a compliment”, but I understand how much effort went in to taking these pictures.

  • I’m glad to hear that she took them down. That’s just not right, in any way shape or form! Taking images from other sites is not cool, and also illegal. Did you (or anyone else) know that those Meme’s that are so popular on sites like Pinterest and Tumbler are also VERY illegal? Unless you have express permission from the person who originally took the photo/drew the cartoon/created the images to reuse it, it’s a violation of the law.

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG NNNNNOOOOO!!!!!

  • I started watermarking my photos because somebody was actually stealing EVERY SINGLE POST ON MY BLOG. I’m glad that girl took your photos down. I know this is an old post, lol, but I’m looking through old posts lol 😉

    • Yes! Who was it?
I hate it when people do that. In one of my early blogging stages, I did a post about Frozen where I used images from google. I looked it up and felt really guilty, because to me in past years I used google for reports, coloring pages, etc.

      • I can’t remember right now, but I believe I mentioned her name in the post 🙂
Ooh I see. Well if you post pics from Google it’s fine as long as you give credit to the owner of the image. 🙂
