YAAAAAY!!!

OH, MY GOODNESS!!!!!

This afternoon I sold 2 Elsa Dresses in my Etsy Shop, but that’s not even the best part!!

After realizing that I now had over $100 I asked my mom to look up some Samantha dolls on Ebay.

image

I just bought her for $112!!!! I AM SOOOO EXCITEEEEDDD!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

image

She is in really good condition, too! Her hair doesn’t look very bad and she comes in her Meet Outfit!!!

I am SO happy and I just HAD to share that with you!! I can’t believe I’m finally getting her! ๐Ÿ˜€

Have you ever bought a doll off of Ebay?

  • Wow! That is marvelous for you! The price wasn’t too bad either. What was shipping? Did the listing say how old the doll is? ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thank you!
Shipping was like $10. It was $112 after shipping ๐Ÿ˜‰
      No, I don’t think it said anything about that… I can’t remember! ๐Ÿ˜›
      ~Jaclynn~

  • OMG! That’s great! I like Samantha too, she’s so cute!
If she weren’t retired, I’d seriously consider getting her.
I’m very happy for you, have fun with Sam!

  • OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!! THAT’S AMAZING!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS, JACLYNN!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Oh, WOW!!:) She’s AMAZING!! I’ve got a 1980s Samantha and I love her so much. I used to have a 2006 one, but I gave her to a friend of mine who didn’t have any dolls and really liked her. I’m so happy for you!:) Is she Pleasant Company or AG?

    • She is amazing!! Awww, that was so nice and sweet of you! Your friend must have been really happy ๐Ÿ™‚
Thank you! She’s Pleasant Company ๐Ÿ™‚
      ~Jaclynn~

      • ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks. Yeah, my friend is really glad to have her.:)
YW! Cool! I thought she looked like it! Depending on exactly how old she is, she might be slightly better quality.;) Also, she may not fit some of your other doll clothes, though, because the older dolls aren’t as skinny.;)

  • BTW do you have any suggestions for me if I want to start a doll clothes business? I really want to, but IDK know where to start and what i have to do.

    • Well, first make sure that you’re items are perfect quality. You want to make sure you don’t sell anything that’s uneven, scraggly, or anything like that.
Make sure you’re ready for a business. Having a business when you’re a kid can be very difficult because depending on how many orders you get, you will be spending all your free time making the items. Which leaves no room for other things that you want to do, like playing, going shopping, going to the movies, or anything like that.
When you’re ready to start your business, you can set up an Etsy shop. When you list your items there’s a section where you add tags (which helps people find your items), so be sure to add things that people might be searching for. I always include things like: “american girl, doll, doll clothes,” etc.
Also, you should get some business cards made to send out with your orders or to pass out to friends.
I hope this little bit of advice helps you! Let me know if there’s anything else you need to know ๐Ÿ™‚
      ~Jaclynn~

  • Congratulations Jaclynn! I know your dolls will be very happy to have a new sister! And that is a wonderful price too! So happy for you!

  • OMGosh! That is SOOOOOO awesome! Congrats! When will she be here?
    ~Carli

    • I know!! Thank you!! Well, she just shipped today. It said she will be here around the 9th or the 17th ๐Ÿ˜€
      ~Jaclynn~

      • You’re welcome! Wow, that’s really exciting!!!! Is this the first doll that you have bought off Ebay?
        ~Carli

        • YAAY! She’s gonna be here on Monday!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
Well, it’s my first doll I’ve bought on Ebay, but my mom has bought me 2 Bitty Twins on there, so I don’t know if that counts. Hehe! ๐Ÿ™‚
          ~Jaclynn~

          • YAY!!!! That is SO EXCITING!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
Hehe! I see, that’s pretty exciting! How long have you been wanting her?
            ~Carli

          • I KNOOOWW!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
            Oooh, I don’t know! Many years, LOL! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜›
            ~Jaclynn~

  • Jaclynn, I just found your video about curling Saige’s hair, and I wondered if you know if what you did would work on Nicki? I got her on Ebay a while ago, and her hair’s slightly frizzy at the back-ends, and when I curl it it slits into a thousand tiny curls. A friends of mine suggested using curlers, but I don’t have any, and I’m not sure how easy it’ll be to find some.:)

    • I think it should work, but it may come out a little differently. I know what you mean, though. When I do it on Rebecca there are pieces that come out, so I try to form them around the curl.
I have heard, though that if you wet their hair really good and then use a curling iron on the lowest setting, it will bring back the curls and her hair will look like new! I’ve seen tons of pictures (before and after) and it looks like it works great! Me and my mom are going to try it on Rebecca and Caroline soon, so we could let you know how it comes out ๐Ÿ˜‰
      ~Jaclynn~

      • Okay, thanks!:) I’m a little nervous about the curling-iron thing, so I’ll wait and see how it works for you.:) I’ll think about doing what you did for Saige though.:) I would do it right away, but I’m not perfectly sure about the brush, because when I brushed her hair when i got her, it went all tangled and frizzy, but that might have been because it was already slightly messy.

      • Wow. I would be scared to use a curling iron on my dolls..but maybe. ๐Ÿ˜•
Could you please post a video of you doing it? That would be so helpful. Thank you! ๐Ÿ˜€

        • Yeah, I’m a little nervous about doing it, but I really want my doll’s hair to be fixed ๐Ÿ™
My mom said that she doesn’t want to film it cause it will make her really nervous and she will have to concentrate (you have to move really fast!). But I think I will be able to take some pics (unless I’m crying, LOL! ๐Ÿ˜› ) and write out what you have to do. We’ll see. ๐Ÿ˜‰
          ~Jaclynn~

  • Oh my goodness! I’m so excited for you!
Samantha: Umm, she looks just like me…

Super happy! Congrats on the new “daughter”!

  • That’s so exciting! I’m so happy for you. You’re going to love Samantha. I have her, and she’s a great doll. She was my first AG doll — I’ve had her for almost 10 years now (I can’t believe it!) — and I don’t think I could love her more. ๐Ÿ™‚ Congrats!
    ~Olivia

  • Cool! Someone posting might or might not of bought your Elsa dress…

  • YAYYYY! YOU WILL LOVE HER!!

Her hair is sooooo easy to manage and I loooove her meet outfit and her eyes are adorable and….

    You will love her!!! Garunteed!

    Lydia

  • Yay! Enjoy her!!!

  • i wish i had Samantha i think she is pretty also because she has my name ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Congratulations! I really wanted Sam when I was little, but then AG retired her:(

  • Whoa! That is SO cool! How many dolls does that make now? ๐Ÿ™‚ I bought Felicity off of Ebay last November, I got her for $70 is that an amazing deal? ๐Ÿ™‚
I love my Samantha doll so much, It’s easy to re-curl her hair too, I think you are going to LOVE her!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Have Fun!!!!!

    -Annie-

    • It sure is!! ๐Ÿ˜€
She will be my 10th 18″ AG doll ๐Ÿ˜‰
Oh, wow! That was a really good deal! I also want to try to find a Nellie doll, but I’m gonna wait a couple of months ๐Ÿ™‚
Thank you! I certainly will! ๐Ÿ˜€
      ~Jaclynn~

  • She is so cute! I am so happy for you. Samantha is such a wonderful doll! ๐Ÿ˜€ Her condition is great. And with a little TLC, she’ll be even better! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Hey Jaclynn! I have a lot of Amazon money, some that I got for Christmas, and some more that I earned on Bing rewards. Right now I have $45 to spend, but soon I’ll earn another $5. But my list of things I want is $56.20. Here are all the links to what I want to buy on Amazon:

So what do you think? Should I get a different doll thing instead? The books I really want to get, because we have all the series up to it, and it is a really good series(nothing to do with dolls though, sorry.)

    ~Christian Homeschooler

    • Ooooh, that is a hard decision! You have quite a bit of money. You could use it to buy all of that stuff or you could use it to buy one big thing! Like doll furniture, a TLC doll maybe, you know things like that. It’s all up to you, though! ๐Ÿ™‚
Also, if you really want the books, then you should probably get those ๐Ÿ˜‰
      Hope this helps!
      ~Jaclynn~

      • Now I have decided on the doll ice skates, the doll soccer outfit, and Doll Boutique instead of Doll Hair Salon. I really want to get Doll Hair Salon sometime, though.

  • ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I WANT HER! I SAW ONE ON EBAY FOR A LOT LESS THAN EVEN THAT!

  • Congratulations, Jaclynn! Samantha is a wonderful doll. I personally don’t own her, but I have her on a long-term loanout from my cousin. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m so glad you got such a good deal on her. Could you link to your Etsy shop? (It is Etsy, right?) I looked all over your blog for it, but I couldn’t find it. Also, what is your blog based on–I mean is it Weebly, WordPress, etc.? I’m interested in starting my own website/doll clothes business, and I want to have a .com url and not a .blogger.com or anything like that.
    Thanks!
    Molly

    • Thank you, Molly! Oh, that’s nice! I can’t wait to have her! ๐Ÿ˜€
Of course! I’m so sorry about that. I really need to have a link to my Etsy just on my page somewhere, LOL!
      Here you go: https://www.etsy.com/shop/bittybeanies
My blog is run through WordPress, but we made my blog with Artisteer 3 ๐Ÿ˜‰
Oh, I see. Hehe, yeah, those urls are just too long.
      You’re welcome!
      ~Jaclynn~

  • so….. how are you doing? -dollwise- also, if you can, please join thedolldwelling.boardhost.com/index.php because it is so fun!

  • I have a question. Any tips on making doll dresses from scratch? Or possibly starting a doll business? Selling stuff you craft for AG?

    • So, have you made doll dresses before, or you haven’t? I’m afraid I don’t really know what to say for starting from scratch. ๐Ÿ™
But, if you have made dresses before first make sure that youโ€™re items are perfect quality. You want to make sure you donโ€™t sell anything thatโ€™s uneven, scraggly, or anything like that.
Make sure youโ€™re ready for a business. Which leaves no room for other things that you want to do, like playing, going shopping, going to the movies, or anything like that.

Also, you should get some business cards made to send out with your orders or to pass out to friends.
I hope this little bit of advice helps you! Let me know if thereโ€™s anything else you need to know and I will try answer as best I can! ๐Ÿ™‚
      ~Jaclynn~

      • I have made doll t-shirts before, and i am a beginner with sewing, and crocheting, and my little accesories aren’t the best quality…

  • Are you going to update your Pic of the Month? I think it’s been up there ever since March! I think, ever since you got your blog!

  • Okay, so recently, I’ve been using most of my time online, school, and looking up retired things on Ebay. And a few days ago I found this Jess doll:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/251421375884?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_461wt_1105
For sale on Ebay. It is a bid, but it has not too much time left and it’s only on $74, plus $14 shipping. Though, that would get rid of ALL my money, and this year I’m trying to open a business (which will cost me about $100 of investment) and put $50 in the bank every month. Though, I don’t know if I’m going to find a good deal on Ebay like this again, but I could use the money on somthing more useful. What do you think I should do?
    ~Carli

    • Eeks!! That is a hard decision!! Jess is SO cute and I’ve always loved her (probably because of Kanani ๐Ÿ˜› ).
If you think you want her badly enough to spend all of your money on her, then I would say go for it! But if there are other more important things you’d rather spend your money on, then don’t get her. Maybe you’ll find another one someday for even less! ๐Ÿ™‚
Just curious, what kind of business is it? Are you making doll things? I hope it all works out for you! ๐Ÿ™‚
I really hope that I helped!! Sometimes it is so hard to decide what you should spend your money on ๐Ÿ˜•
      ~Jaclynn~

  • I didn’t get Samantha off eBay, but I got her friend Nellie off eBay.
