Summer Camp 2014
First Night At Camp
Clara lay awake in her bed in a cabin away from her sister. They had always shared a room together since they were little. She cried and cried for a very long time.
“Hey, are you okay?” Samantha, one of the girls in Clara’s cabin whispered.
“No.” Clara sniffled.
“Well, what’s wrong?” Samantha asked.
“I’ve never slept in a room without my sister before. I feel scared and lonely without her!” Clara replied.
“What if me and your sister trade cabins? That way you two can be together.” Samantha offered kindly.
Clara sat up in her bed. “You’d do that for me?” Clara asked with excitement.
“Sure! I don’t mind.” Samantha said with a smile. “Now, we’d better get some sleep.”
“Thank you!” Clara said.
“You’re welcome, Clara.” Samantha replied.
Clara settled down and drifted off to sleep. She couldn’t wait to see her sister tomorrow!
Have you ever felt like Clara?
First Day Of Camp!
Alright, who has just been DYING for Camp Doll Diaries to start?! I’ve been ready for WEEKS!! I am so excited that Camp has started and I look forward to all the fun my dolls and I are gonna have this summer! 😀
Just to refresh yourselves, my camp this year is focusing on Clara and Rebecca who are sisters 😉
All the girls had been waiting forever for camp to start and finally, today is the day they’ve all been waiting for! The first day of camp is mostly focused on getting registered and settled in. Here a few girls are in line to sign in.
“I’m okay, I’m okay. I’m gonna have fun! Don’t be scared.” Clara said to herself. She was still very nervous about going to camp.
At last, it was Rebecca’s and Clara’s turn.
“And what is your last name, Rebecca?” Jess asked. She is the head counselor at camp 😉
“It’s Rubin.” Rebecca replied.
“Ah, yes, you are in Mirkwood Cabin.” Jess said.
“Here is your cabin key.” Lana, a younger counselor, said.
“Thank you!” Rebecca replied with a smile. She just wanted to go take a look at camp already!
Clara dug in her tote bag for her registration form. “Ah, there it is!” Clara exclaimed.
“And I assume your last name is Rubin, as well?” Jess asked.
“Yeah, that’s right.” Clara replied shyly.
“You are in Enchanted Cabin!” Jess said and Lana gave her the key to her cabin.
“But, me and Becca are supposed to be in the same cabin together! Our mommy said she was going to request it.” Clara said starting to get very sad and upset.
“I know, I remember her calling. I told her I would see what I could do, but I’m afraid by the time you two signed up there was only room for one girl in two separate cabins and all the other ones were filled. I’m very sorry. If there had been more room, I would’ve put you two in a cabin together, but there was nothing I could do.” Jess explained.
“Rebecca, I don’t wanna be without you! I only decided to come because you said we’d be together the entire time!” Clara cried. “I know, Clara! I wish we could be together, too and I’m also really disappointed, but there’s nothing we can do.” Rebecca replied.
“I wanna go home.” Clara said sadly.
“Oh, please, Clara! Stay here! I promise you, we’ll still see each other! Okay?” Rebecca said.
“Okay.” Clara replied and Rebecca gave her a hug.
“Once you girls have unpacked, please come back here for you name tags. They’ll be waiting for you. I’m sure you will both have a great time here this summer!”
Are you doing Camp Doll Diaries? How was your doll’s first day at camp?
P.S. This all happened yesterday, but I’m posting it today 😉
Clara Is Nervous
Hey everyone! Before we start the photostory I have to let you know something:
When my dolls go to Camp Doll Diaries they aren’t gonna be my “kids” that are going, but they will all be from different families and will be friends 🙂
Now that I’ve given you that piece of information, let’s get on with the story!
“Clara! Clara! Clara!!” Rebecca screamed as she came bursting through the bedroom door.
“Now that you’ve scared me half to death, what is it?” Clara asked with a smile, but still trying to catch her breath. She was very startled.
“Look! We got a postcard and it says that Camp Doll Diaries will be starting on June 2nd!!” Rebecca said.
“That’s super soon and this year you can come with me because now you’re old enough! Isn’t that exciting? We’ll have so much fun together!!” Rebecca said excitedly.
“Oh, yeah, that’s real exciting.” Clara said as she turned her head away.
“Clara? What’s wrong? I thought you’d be sooo excited! You were really sad when you couldn’t go last year.” Rebecca said, feeling confused.
Clara got up from her desk and walked over to the vanity. “I know, Becca, it’s just that…. Well, I think I’ll stay here again. It really wasn’t so bad last year.” Clara said sadly.
“Clara, you said you were super lonely and bored with me gone all summer. Now, what’s really wrong?” Rebecca asked.
“I know what I said last year, and it was true. I really was sad, but now that I’m old enough and now that it’s here-” Clara paused for a moment. She was ashamed to say how she felt because Rebecca was so outgoing and brave. Clara really looked up to her. Finally, somehow she managed to get out the words, “The truth is, Rebecca, I’m scared! I’m not going to know anyone or how to do anything! I’m the type of girl who’d like to stay inside and read a book or watch movies! I just don’t think I could handle it.” Clara cried.
“Oh, Clara! I understand how you feel. I felt the same way when I first went to camp. But I promise you that you’ll be just fine! You’re going to love camp and make lots of new friends! And if you want, you could spend all of your time in the crafting cabin or sitting on your bed reading a book. No matter what you choose to do, I know you’ll have the time of your life!” Rebecca explained.
“Thanks, Rebecca! I guess I’ll go, but I probably won’t stop being scared until after the first day of camp.” Clara said with a little smile. She was still very nervous, but if what her sister said was true, she thought she might as well give it a try.
Today, my mom and I did some crafting! We had SO much fun making these things for Camp Doll Diaries!
Have you started preparing for Camp? Do you have a “child” who’s as scared as Clara?
