Clara Is Nervous

Hey everyone! Before we start the photostory I have to let you know something:

When my dolls go to Camp Doll Diaries they aren’t gonna be my “kids” that are going, but they will all be from different families and will be friends 🙂

Now that I’ve given you that piece of information, let’s get on with the story!

image

“Clara! Clara! Clara!!” Rebecca screamed as she came bursting through the bedroom door.

“Now that you’ve scared me half to death, what is it?” Clara asked with a smile, but still trying to catch her breath. She was very startled.

image

“Look! We got a postcard and it says that Camp Doll Diaries will be starting on June 2nd!!” Rebecca said.

image

“That’s super soon and this year you can come with me because now you’re old enough! Isn’t that exciting? We’ll have so much fun together!!” Rebecca said excitedly.

image

“Oh, yeah, that’s real exciting.” Clara said as she turned her head away.

image

“Clara? What’s wrong? I thought you’d be sooo excited! You were really sad when you couldn’t go last year.” Rebecca said, feeling confused.

image

Clara got up from her desk and walked over to the vanity. “I know, Becca, it’s just that…. Well, I think I’ll stay here again. It really wasn’t so bad last year.” Clara said sadly.

image

“Clara, you said you were super lonely and bored with me gone all summer. Now, what’s really wrong?” Rebecca asked.

“I know what I said last year, and it was true. I really was sad, but now that I’m old enough and now that it’s here-” Clara paused for a moment. She was ashamed to say how she felt because Rebecca was so outgoing and brave. Clara really looked up to her. Finally, somehow she managed to get out the words, “The truth is, Rebecca, I’m scared! I’m not going to know anyone or how to do anything! I’m the type of girl who’d like to stay inside and read a book or watch movies! I just don’t think I could handle it.” Clara cried.

image

“Oh, Clara! I understand how you feel. I felt the same way when I first went to camp. But I promise you that you’ll be just fine! You’re going to love camp and make lots of new friends! And if you want, you could spend all of your time in the crafting cabin or sitting on your bed reading a book. No matter what you choose to do, I know you’ll have the time of your life!” Rebecca explained.

image

“Thanks, Rebecca! I guess I’ll go, but I probably won’t stop being scared until after the first day of camp.” Clara said with a little smile. She was still very nervous, but if what her sister said was true, she thought she might as well give it a try.

Today, my mom and I did some crafting! We had SO much fun making these things for Camp Doll Diaries!

Have you started preparing for Camp? Do you have a “child” who’s as scared as Clara?

  • Super crafts! Hey Clara, my Julie was nervous when she went to Camp Echo Hill last year. She was excited, but it was the first time she’d be away from home. But thankfully all her friends were there too, and she made a new friend. I bet you’re gonna have a blast at camp this summer!

  • I hope Clara stops being nervous soon, Rebecca was so sweet 🙂
I’ve started a little bit, but these past few days have been really busy, so I haven’t been able to do a lot, but I’m getting there 😀
    ~Carli

  • Oh, I never realized that I was so late making things for Camp Doll Diaries! Anyways, you now gave me the idea of having my “kids” be from different families and all be friends 😀 I was thinking on how I was gonna do that. It would be pretty boring to be at camp with just your sisters! LOL!!! I hope Clara goes to camp, though, it would be so much fun for her! I don’t think any of my dolls are nervous about it. Kirsten might be a little, but the rest of them are ok 😉

    -Abigail ♥

    • you are not late, it’s not even a requirement (I spelled that right first go! lol). I havn’t even started!

  • It’s okay to feel scared, Clara! Being the “New Girl” isn’t always easy, but I KNOW you will make new friends!! I haven’t started prepping for Camp DD, but I’m (hopefully) going to get started after school today!! I hope you all have so much fun at Camp, and I wish you the best of luck, Clara!! ~Amelia

  • My Isabelle isn’t all that outgoing, and this is her first year, so she is kind of nervous. But she knows she will have a lot of fun. I was nervous before I first went to my church camp, but now it is my favorite place on earth! You can tell that to Clara if she needs some encouragement.

  • I am really excited for camp!! I am busy preparing stuff, too. Some of the stuff I made is on my blog. 😉 My dolls aren’t really scared at all, but my camp will be a little different. Since I don’t really have room to have camp set up all the time, I will have a day camp once a week. That way, there will be lots of fun things to do on that day, because Doll Diaries will have posted things to do for a whole week! 🙂
What’s weird, is that when I saw this photo http://littlehouseofamericangirl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/image23.jpg
I was like, did you get another doll!!? Rebecca looked like she had medium skin, so at first I didn’t know who it was, and then I thought it was Marisol or the MAG who looks like her but with short hair!

    ~Christian Homeschooler

    • Me, too! That’s a really good idea! I was sorta doing that last year, but honestly it was kind of pain to set up and tear down all the time for just a little bit of play and a few pictures 😛 This year I’m gonna try to make a few spots in my room for camp to be permanently set up. That means, I have to clean my room! Ugh 😛
Oh, that’s funny! Her skin does look darker… I think it’s the lighting cause I took the pictures in my bedroom and the lighting is horrible in there 😕
      ~Jaclynn~

      • Thanks! I would love to have some stuff permanently set up in my room, but I did that last year, stuff got knocked over and stepped on, etc., because there is basically room to walk in my room, and not much else. 😛 Even if my room is clean. Another reason for me doing it this way is because I can have time for other stuff in the summer, too.
Oh, I understand all about horrible lighting. So parts of my room have bad lighting. 😛 Natural lighting is the best!! 🙂

        • Oh, I get that. I wish I stored my doll’s visors better cause now they are all squished, bent, and just weird LOL! 😛
Yeah, my room is like that, too! I’m gonna try to figure it out, though! 😀
          Yep, it sure is!
          ~Jaclynn~

        • That’s like my room! Me and my friend are doing it together (go over to the house once a month or something like that). I’m going to ask her it we could set up at her house!

      • i feel just like that. i think its kinda a pain to set up so much if you are only gonna be playing for a while.

  • I AM SO EXCITED FOR CDD!!! I didn’t do it last year at all but this year I AM SO PUMPED!!! I made a little cabin with cardboard that holds nine dolls. I think I’m gonna need another cabin. I have 10 AG dolls but my sister’s dolls are going to and also my non-ag dolls (except the toddlers and the one who is staying behind to look after them) are coming to! Fortunately some of them are counselors and they don’t sleep anywhere. 😛 Well that was a worthless and long paragraph. xD

It’s Molly and Amelia’s first time and they are pretty nervous but still really excited to. 🙂

You and your mom are SUCH good crafters! My signs looked like squished nachos. 😛 Oh well. If at first you don’t succeed, try try again! Third time’s the charm! I sound wierd! LOL yeah I should end this comment shoulden’t I?

    ~Lydia~ <3

    • That’s so cool that you made a cabin!! I bet it’s really cool!! 😀
Well, that’s good that they are excited!

Hehe! Thank you! Aww, I’m sorry! But I’m sure they’ll work out fine 🙂
LOL! No, that’s actually true! Just keep trying and you’ll get it 🙂
      ~Jaclynn~

      • Thanks! 😀

        Yeah! 😛

        Your welcome. xD

P.S. Have you ever seen Once Upon a Time? I would like your opinion on it if you've ever seen it. 🙂

  • Well,it’s Caroline’s first year at camp but she’s a bit nervous.
    But besides that,they’re all excited!
Wow! I’ve been so busy I haven’t even thought about camp!!!!
    Time to craft today!!!
I got the Doll Diaries iron ons but haven’t ironed them on anything yet!!!
Clara is such a cute girl!!!
Can’t wait to see more camp stuff-oh my goodness-I just realized it’s May 16…that means I really need to get ready, lol!!!
Hope you have a great day!
    -Grace-

  • Hey everyone! Clara wants to say something to all of you:
“Hi! I just want to say thank you all for your kind words! It means a lot to me!” 🙂
    ~Jaclynn & Clara~

    • You are SO welcome, Clara and Jaclynn! I always will be by your side, in fact, I might “BeForever” there (heehee)!! Me and the Gals will always be here for you, no matter what! If you ask for help, we’ll be there! ~Amelia

    • Aww!
You have such a kind “daughter”!

Linda: Don’t worry,Clara! I was very nervous at first too! This year,I’m going to be a camp leader!!!
      With lots of hugs, Linda

  • Hi, Clara! This will be Haley’s first time going to Camp Doll Diaries and she is nervous too. The good thing is that her sisters will be able to show her around and tell her how things work. Even if they are in different cabins they will be able to see each other during free time, meals, and other combined activities. Have fun!

  • My dolls are going to Camp Doll Diaries too. They are super excited!
A while back you said that you were doing a photo story soon. Is this it?
    ~Kayleigh~

  • Hey Jaclynn! I hope you don’t mind that I used your idea for the Camp Doll Diaries banners. Because I was stumped on how to use them, and then I saw your post, and you put arrows on the banners, and I thought it was a great idea! Anyway, thanks for the idea, and I hope you don’t mind. 🙂

  • Wow! Your new doll Clara is just through-the-roof ADORBS!(slang for adorable) What a sweet photostory 🙂 Nope I’m not doing Camp Doll Diaries this year mostly because all the fun printable are in color and colored ink is too expensive so whatever I print turns out in black and white :p Ah well. It looks fun though, I’m excited to see what you and your dolls have planned, your posts are always so fun!

    • LOL! Thanks! 😀
Awww, that’s sad 🙁 I understand not having colored ink. We were out for a really long time until recently my mom had to buy it, so now I can finally print fun, colorful things! 😛 🙂
      Thank you so much!
      ~Jaclynn~

    • Madison- You might be able to print them in black and white and then color them! Then they’re even more unique!

      • Oh, that’s a great idea, Amelia!! And with Madi’s artistic skills I’m sure she’d have a lot of fun doing that!
You should definitely consider that, Madison 😀
        ~Jaclynn~

  • Hi Jaclynn! Please tell Clara that Camp Doll Diaries is all about getting out of your comfort zone–trying new things and going new places, and that’s what makes it the best, because you do it all with friends. 🙂
And maybe I’m just not reading this right, but does one of the signs say “Chuck Wagon”? I’ve never been to summer camp, and I don’t know what that is. Could you explain it to me? Sorry to be a dunce here. >.< ;P

    • Okay, I will 🙂
Yes, it does say Chuck Wagon. A Chuck Wagon is like where you get food. Like at the craft fair my mom and I do they have a Chuck Wagon and that’s where you order the burgers and stuff. That’s actually where we got the idea from 🙂
Oh, it’s totally fine! I can understand how that could be confusing. 😉
      ~Jaclynn~

      • OH! Now I understand! xD That’s so cool that you got inspiration from the craft fairs. 😀
And once again I have to apologize for being MIA for awhile. 😛 I’m really enjoying the new series, though. 🙂 You are super creative; have you ever thought about entering any writing contests? Your ideas are so original, you would do great! You could even just take one of these stories and alter it a bit–it would be perfect. 🙂

        • Yeah, I really like the name, Chuck Wagon 😀
It’s fine! I’m sure you were busy which I totally understand! 😉
Thank you SO much! No, I have never thought about that! It would be really fun, but I feel like I’d be pressured and not do good… But I could do like you said and enter one of my photostories! 🙂
Thank you, again! Your words really encouraged me 🙂
          ~Jaclynn~

  • JACYNN!
You’re on Pics of the week at DollDiaries!
    Congrats!!!

  • It’s my molly’s first year too!
    I GOT A NEW DOLLLL
    HER NAME IS HARRIET!

  • madi- I just made my own, because, like you, colored ink is out of the question. I just wrtoe “CDDD” on peices of paper, XD

  • Did you make the postcard?

  • There’s a pingback near the end of the comments. How do you get those?

    • I honestly have no idea how to make them or post them or anything! All I know is that its a link to a post, LOL! 😛
