Maryellen~ Photoshoot & Review
As you all should know by now, I got MARYELLEN!!! I really didn’t think I’d make enough money to get her in such a short time, but I’m so glad and thankful I did! She is absolutely beautiful and oh! Her hair!! I think she has one of my favorite doll wigs! It’s BEAUTIFUL! 😀
Now, let’s get on to the photoshoot and review! 🙂
Maryellen is a beautiful girl with lovely hazel eyes and strawberry blonde hair. I’d have to say, though, that I am not so impressed with her bangs. Both Maryellen and Grace have that weird section of hair that flops over. You can move that piece up and out of the way, though, which is probably what I’ll do from now on 🙂
Here are her pretty eyes. They are a green hazel. The colors I see in her eyes are green and brown. It looks like Maryellen and Clara (MAG/TM #21) share the same eye color. You can click on the picture and zoom in to see the color perfectly 🙂
Her outfit is ADORABLE and great quality!
I love the colors of the dress so much! It looks really beach-y and sorta candy shop-ish to me 😀 The stripes are white, coral, red, and mint 🙂
I really like the bits of ribbon and two bows and the sweetheart neckline, SO cute! 😀
Her knit shrug is probably my favorite piece of this outfit! It’s adorable!! It is very soft and easy to get on and off. The “M” is embroidered on 🙂 Oh, and there’s no need to worry about the velcro from the dress snagging the shrug either. The dress velcros quite nicely in the back 🙂
She comes with her hair styled in a high ponytail. Her curls are so pretty and I love the color of her hair!! 😀 Oh, and something that is SO weird is that her tag said “Care for your doll with straight hair”…. I’m like – That is wavy/curly! Not straight at all! 😛
The ribbon bow is attached to a hair scrunchie.

Her shoes are some of my favorite AG shoes, I think! They velcro on nicely 🙂

Oh, right! Here’s a closeup of her hair color. The colors in her hair are blonde, red, and what seems to be orange-ish to me…? I could be wrong, though 😉

I had wanted to have her nickname be Ellie, but then I remembered that I have a Cinderella toddler doll that I named Ellie that’s in my “family”, so that’s not gonna work. And I don’t want to call her Mary or Ella, so I guess everyone will use her first name 😛

Ahhh – she’s SOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!! I love Maryellen so much and all of her collection, since I am a huge 50’s fan. However, I probably won’t get Maryellen herself since she look so much like my Ruth (MAG/TM #33).

Me, too! Her collection is great! Except.. I’m not that fond of her pajamas or the ice skating outfit 😉 Yeah, I can understand that. Maryellen actually looks a lot like Clara (#21), but I feel like they’re different enough 🙂

Her ice skating outfit and PJ’s were the most important things to me, LOL. They are just too cute!
She’s pretty, but i am not going to get her. I am going to get the truly me that has red curly hair. I like her a little better in my opinion and she doesn’t have the werid bangs, and her hair is a little redder.
Congrats! LOL. She is so photogenic, right? I LOVE MARYELLEN. Our Maryellen’s are pretty much twins, LOL.
Her hair once I brushed it and recurled it, it really should say wavy. I mean it’s not Caroline curly but it isn’t straight! It’s like Samantha and #49 I guess.
My favorite picture is her looking at the pool. TOO CUTE!
In the book (I fell asleep reading it last night :P) her nickname is Ellie.

Yeah, I think it should say wavy, too! And, yeah, I think it’s similar to Samantha’s. I’ve decided not to brush her hair, just because I want her natural look to stay, so I’m just using my fingers to comb through it 🙂

I brush her hair and then finger curl it because after learning to take care of Caroline’s hair, I’m not nervous about hair anymore. Maryellen’s still looks really natural and like she’s brand new.

You could re-curl it right? I use water now because otherwise it gets all frizzy…but I got a Caroline who had a defect so they sent a new one and I experimented on Caroline until the new one came and I figured out how to do it. I was terrified otherwise.

It’s YouTube, but it’s a tutorial by somebody on how to restore curly doll hair that’s now frizzy and poofy using pins. I haven’t tried it myself but I found it awhile ago and will use it if Caroline’s ever get’s that bad.

She’s very pretty. I agree about her cowlick – it’s odd. Maybe it will flatten out over time.
My favorite photo is the one of her shadowed and overlooking the pool.
I don’t think I’ll add her to my collection, but I do like a lot of her outfits. They may find their way to our wardrobe.

Hey, Jaclyn! I finally thought to check your blog! 😛 I love the pictures you took of Maryellen (The last one is my favorite) *sigh* every time I see her I fall in love with her even more! But I don’t think I’ll be able to get her anytime soon since I’m hopefully getting Lea Clark. I read the first chapter of Maryellen’s book on the way home from the store and I think it’s really good. It’s totally fine, different parents have different rules! We’ve always had the rule no internet when a parent isn’t home, so my parents always see everything I go on anyway, but Rebekah’s parents don’t have that rule. She wasn’t allowed to watch YouTube until, as she said, a few months ago…and we have friends who aren’t really allowed to use the internet at all!
I don’t watch any YouTube besides AGTube though, and mostly the DIY videos. I asked my dad about getting one and he was just like ‘Yeah sure’ whereas Rebekah’s parent’s would be ‘We’ll have to talk about it’ and never get back to her.
On that note, my mom is about to go shopping so I have to get off. 😛

I’m planning on entering DollDiaries’ contest, so hopefully I’ll win her!!:D Right now I’m trying to have enough money by the end of the year to get a really good camera and Grace! I will probably rename Grace, Julia. I was planning on Leah, but the next GOTY will have that name.
After Grace I would like to get the TM that you named Clara-SHE IS SO STINKIN ADORABLE!!!! A while back when I saw your profile picture for Clara, I completly fell for her!:D I would name her Cozi or Christen. 😉

Yup, everyone’s giving away Maryellen! Which type of camera are you trying to get? A DSLR? I really want one but I just have a really spiffy point-and-shoot right now…I want a Canon EOS Rebel.
I have like 13 dolls on my list (all historical), sooo yeah I’m totally gonna get all of them, LOL. Unless I find a bunch at Goodwill, I’m not going to go much higher in doll count. Maybe.
