A Smart Investment

My mom thought that it would be a good idea to buy Molly and Saige, so she can sell them for more money when they retire. I encouraged the idea because I know how expensive retired dolls are- especially if they are new in box. My mom also bought Molly’s Accessories and I think her Ice Skating Set is on the way, too!

image image

Here they are! I can not tell you how having 2 NEW AG dolls in the house is! Even though I already have Saige and I don’t want Molly, I want to open them!! It has been torturing me for days!! I think the most one I want to open is Molly. And I think it’s because she’s here that I’m actually liking her. I even told my mom, “If you don’t sell them you can give them to me!” LOLOL! 😛

I also never noticed this, but Saige’s box is pink and Molly’s is red. Is it that way with all GOTY and HC dolls?

If you want Molly or Saige after they have retired, remember to keep us in mind! 😉

I Discovered Something Interesting!!

Today I wanted to get out my sister’s AG Doll Bin and just look through her stuff. Whenever I get it out I always look at her old catalog.

image

This is a picture of the front of the catalog. It’s the 1998 Holiday Catalog!

image

Who is that? Could it be? Yes, it’s Felicity’s horse, Penny in the Girl of Today section!!

She was called “American Girl Horse”. In this catalog Felicity doesn’t even have Penny or any stable-ish things, just her riding outfits.
I think it is SO weird and kinda cheap of AG to use an old Girl of Today Horse to be Penny. Why don’t they just make a brand new one?
Just in case you wanna know, here’s what it says about her:
“What a beauty! Braid her thick brown mane and tail, and stroke her velvety coat. Then position the royal blue saddle blanket and leather saddle, adjust the stirrups, take up the reins, and you’re off! Don’t forget to give her the name you’ve always dreamed of for a horse of your own.”
She sold for $58.

I just looked at a catalog that has “Penny” in it. Here’s something else interesting:

She is still called “American Girl Horse” and was sold for $75.
The description says:
“This beautiful horse looks just like Penny! Includes attached reins, a royal blue saddle blanket, and a faux leather saddle.”

This is all just so weird.. and can you believe how much they raised the price of her?? It’s ridiculous!

What are your thoughts about this?

We Have A Foal!!

image

It was a busy day in the stables today. We were getting a foal and Felicity, Saige, and Annika were making all of the preparations.

image

Just when Saige was going to ask, “When will she get here?” mommy (me 😛 ) called out, “Girls! One of you needs to come out and get your new foal settled!”

Saige- “I’ll do it!!”

image

Annika- “I’m so excited to meet her! I wonder what she looks like…”

Felicity- “Probably adorable and beautiful!!” The sisters giggled with excitement!

image

Saige- “Here she is!”

Felicity- “Oooooh! Look at her eyes! She is so pretty!!”

Annika- “She’s adorable!!!”

image

Saige- “Isn’t she?!?” She sighed, “Girls, we have a problem. When we were leading her out of the trailer she stumbled. Her leg got scratched.”

Annika- “Oh, poor little thing! Don’t worry we’ll fix you up.”

Felicity- “I’ll lead Penny into the fields so you can have more room to work. Let me know when to lead her back in.”

image

So, Annika and Saige set to work!

Saige- “Easy, girl- easy!”

Annika- “Come here sweetie, I have to bandage you up.”

image

Annika- “There you are- good as new!”

Saige- “We’ll have to keep an eye on that leg, but she should mend in no time at all!”

image

The girls groomed her until she was nice and clean.

image

Annika watched her eat while Saige and Felicity talked about her injury.

image

Felicity- “Awww!! They look so sweet together!” She said as they watched Penny and her new friend eating.

Saige- “They sure do! Hey, what are we going to name her?”

image

Annika- “I have a suggestion.”

Felicity- “What is it?”

Annika- “Well, I’ve been reading the Lord of the Rings books and there are lots of interesting and beautiful names in there. So, today when I was reading there was a mini story about the Lady of Luthien. Why not name her Luthien?

Saige- “Oh, I love it! It’s so pretty!”

Felicity- “I think it’s unanimous, cause I love it, too!”

Annika- “Alright, Luthien it is!”

image

All of the girls love little Luthien 🙂

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today me and my mom went to Target. I was planning on purchasing a Laptop set from OG for $7, but they didn’t have it. When I saw this foal I knew I had to have her! She is a Morgan horse (which is the breed I ride), beautiful, and she came with a lot of accessories for only $18.99!!
I had such a hard time trying to decide on what to name her. I knew I wanted to name her something from LOTR. I wrote down a lot of names and I finally decided on Luthien. If you’re wondering how it’s pronounced it’s said like this:
Looth- ee- en
I’ll be doing a review on the whole set soon 🙂
Do you have a horse for your doll(s)?
Kanani’s Missing Shoes!
Have you ever lost an AG item before? Something you thought you couldn’t possibly lose because you always keep a good eye on all of your AG stuff? Isn’t that just so frustrating?
Well, that happened to me about a year ago, it seems. I lost Kanani’s Meet Sandals. I was so upset and I searched everywhere! I can’t tell you how many times I dug through and emptied my AG bins. I thought I may have lost them at Hillside (where I do my craft shows), but that seemed unlikely to me. I checked in all of my tote bags and back-packs. It was no where to be found.
So, today my mom tells me to clean up my crochet area (it was out of control).  I just finished putting the yarn I wanted to use in my crochet bag. Then- I don’t know why (I guess I was checking if anything was there), I stuck my hand in the front pocket of my bag. “What’s this?” I could tell it was something like a shoe. “Oh, No way!” I thought to myself.
image
Sure enough! I grabbed both of Kanani’s Sandals!!
I can not tell you how relieved I am! I literally thought I would never see them again. I’m sure Kanani will be happy when I tell her! She’s missed wearing her complete Meet Outfit 🙂
Yay! My prize for winning in Natalie’s Photo Challenge (at Doll Diaries) has finally arrived! I took a couple of pictures so you could see 🙂
It was inside a cute little Hello Kitty bag and sealed with a “J” sticker! “J” for my name- Hehe! 😀
image
How cute! A little Tote Bag! Inside the Tote Bag was a couple of Doll Diaries business cards and some Build-A-Bear stickers! Her business cards are adorable- I get mine from the same company 😀
That Tote is just too cute! I’ll have to take some pictures of my dolls with it 🙂
Do your dolls like Tote Bags? What do they use them for?
My AG Store!
OK, time to show you my set-up of an AG Store! It had to be really small and different than the others of course and I didn’t use my Bitty’s because I didn’t have room this time.
image
Here are the dolls and underneath (on the bunk under them) are the clothes that didn’t have boxes to be put in.
image
The boxed clothes, Berry Wheelchair, Baking Table, Baking Accessories, Saige’s Painting Set, Penny, and other care supplies.
image
Right outside my bedroom door was the perfect spot for all of my American Girl books, sets, and movies!
image
Here’s my register. I have some birthday stickers to hand out, American Girl receipts, “Featured Items” (hehe!), gift cards, and packs of cards that came with Felicity’s outfits!
What do you think of my store? Do/have you ever played American Girl Store?
I’ve made one with a hair salon before, too! But then things got moved around in my room so now I have no room to do that- hehe!
My Review of Caroline Abbot
I’ve noticed that since Saige was released there hasn’t been alot of talk about our newest Historical Character-Caroline. I want to give her some attention and since I have her I decided to do a review about her! Ready? Let’s get started!
IMG_7750
Something I really like about Caroline is her eyes! They’re a very light blue. A bit aqua-marine actually! They’re very pretty! I also love her face mold! There seem to be a few dolls with the same one. I know Felicity has it for sure! Anyways, she just has the sweetest face! Although- All of them do 😀 LOL!
IMG_7753
Now what I LOVE is her hair! Look at that! It’s so long and curly! And it’s also very light. It can be a pain though because to keep her hair looking nice you have to pick it a lot! Yes, use the AG Sparkly Hair Pick! Do NOT brush!!! I also highly recommend spritzing it with water. It gets it smooth 😉
IMG_7754
Now I’ll review her Meet Outfit and Accessories!
Here’s her dress. I absolutely love her dress! It’s a light pink with some medium pink trimmings. It’s long and I love the style! If AG ever made her dress for girls- I’d get it! It’s so pretty!
IMG_7755
The waistband looks like a tied ribbon but it’s actually just part of the dress! It’s all embroidered so nice and neat. This is part of what makes the dress pretty!
IMG_7756
The cute little sleeve with a ruffle at the edge 🙂
IMG_7757
Look at that tiny shoe!!! I love AG’s shoes! They all look so realistic. And the socks that she comes wearing are probably my favorite out of all the others that I have! They’re nice and thick- just like real ones! The shoes are easy to slip on, too!
On to the Accessories!
IMG_7760
Ok, this is one of my favorites in her entire collection!! This bonnet is SO pretty and very Easter-ish 😉  The flower is so big and pretty! I love the colors and everything about it! I was so excited when I first saw this bonnet cause I have always wanted one like this for myself! And now- my dolls could have one!
IMG_7762
Here’s her pouch, and once again- all embroidered! The colors are so pretty! And the style is really cute! In my opinion though- AG could’ve made the ties a bit shorter.
IMG_7765
Emboridered on the top of the bag says, “Caroline Abbot 1812” So cute!
IMG_7764
Lastly is her spinning top! It really works and it actually is good for people! LOL!
IMG_7758
Her colors are so pretty-  she is so pale and I love that about her! It’s unique from any Historical Doll AG has done! I recommend Miss Caroline Abbot 100%! But I also recommend her for older girls- at the ages 8 and up. I don’t believe that girls younger than that should get her. Caring for her hair can be a challenge and it takes practice. If the child is younger than the age I suggested and really IS capable of caring for her then that would be fine 🙂
Hope you enjoyed the review!!!
