Hello Girls and their dollies!

First thank you all for your well wishes and prayers for Cecile. We all appreciate them so much!

Cecile had her surgery on Friday and it went pretty well. We have been visiting her every day since and she seems to be doing okay. I am mad with the doctors, though and I’ll tell you why.

When Cecile was admitted into the hospital she was unconcious, so of course she can’t talk. Well, the doctors only examined her head and neck area (since that’s where the unconcious-ness would come from) and didn’t even bother to examine her fully. So, the day after the operation, Cecile’s leg is in pain. It turns out she broke it. So, she has a cast on her leg and a brace/cast-thingy (I don’t really know what it’s called, lol) on her neck. She can’t come home until a week has passed from the surgery. Please continue to pray for Cece! Because after today’s visit we have HORRIBLE news!! 🙁

“How are you feeling today, Cecile?” Annika asked her sister.

“Okay.” Cecile replied.

“Cece? I just want to tell you how sorry I am. This never would’ve happened if I hadn’t waited so long to tell you to slow down on Penny! You can blame me all you want!” Saige cried.

“Oh, Saige don’t cry! It wasn’t your fault! I don’t blame anyone for what happened. It just- happened. I’m sorry that you’ve thought I blamed you all this time. I really don’t.” Cecile said weakly and with tears in her eyes.

“Thank you Cece.” Saige said, but it didn’t quite seem like she believed it.

“Would you help me lie down? I’m feeling really tired.” Cecile asked.

Annika and Saige helped her to lie down. “Could you take the covers off? It’s so hot in here.” Cecile said.

Annika pulled down her blanket and folded it nicely at the foot of the bed.

“There you go, Cece. Is that better?” Annika asked.

“Thank you, but I’m still very hot.” Cecile said. Suddenly, Annika got worried.

She leaned down to put her hand on Cecile’s head. “Cecile you have a fever.” Annika said.

“Saige, go get Mommy and Doctor Jack! Tell them Cecile has a fever!” Annika said. She was very worried.

“Annika, what’s wrong? It’s just a fever.” Saige said.

“No, I don’t think it’s just a fever. Now go get Mommy! GO!” Annika raised her voice and it startled Saige. She had never heard Annika talk like that before. Saige darted out of the room.

“Oh, Cecile! You have to be alright! You just have to!” Annika cried.

I was in the room before the doctor and I pressed my hand against Cecile’s forehead. “Oh, my sweet girl!” I said.

“Is she going to be okay?” Saige asked.

“What’s wrong with her, Mommy?” asked Annika.

“Doctor Jack says that she has an infection. That’s what is causing the fever.” I said with tears in my eyes, but trying to be strong for my girls.

Saige started to cry and Annika had tears. Annika hugged her sister and said, “Saige, she’s going to be alright!”
“Annika, this is all my fault! We should’ve been in the ring with her. I should’ve told her what to do if Penny started going too fast or if she lost control!” Saige cried.
“Saige, listen to me. This is not your fault! There is no way anyone could tell what was going to happen. You heard her, she doesn’t blame you, I don’t blame you, and neither does anybody else. So, why should you go on blaming yourself?” Annika said. Saige just kept crying. “She’s going to be okay, Saige. I promise, okay?” Annika said and hugged her a little tighter.
“Okay.” Saige said and she started to calm down.

The doctors are gonna have to do another surgery. It’s scheduled for this evening. Hopefully it will all go well! 😕
